Love has never been a popular movement. And people have never really wanted to be free. The world is held together, really it is held together, by the love and the passion of very few people

This should not be shrugged aside. They have stopped with the fake 22 million illegal immigrants things and are flat out saying we want to deport 10's of millions of citizens and legal residents from "third world countries" Basically they are advocating removing 1/3 of the population on a gov site.

We are getting really close to some DOJ lawyers ending up in jail.
Breaking:

Emails just released by a federal judge show that Justice Department leaders pushed to charge Kilmar Abrego Garcia — raising serious questions about whether Department officials had misled a judge in telling him that local prosecutors had acted alone in charging Abrego.

There is no horror that a white person can commit that other white people won’t tell marginalized people that they should forgive.
And if you refuse to give someone credit for standing for liberal democracy just because they don’t agree with your policy preferences, you’re missing the big picture. www.thebulwark.com/p/why-marjor...

Before COVID & masking
the Legacy Democrat chucklefcks showed us their ass over the Genocide in Palestine,
before Palestine they showed their ass when Biden insisted the economy was going fine no matter what their base told them.

This is who they are.
Arrogant, smug and deeply unlikable.
And a special message to people who spent the last year chasing likes and follows by cheerleading for talkshow hosts and podcasters for "standing up" to Trump: This is what *all* of them really think about you, and me. They think you're a joke. Whatever really matters to you, they don't care.
Disappointed to see Jon Stewart & co joke about masking in public. I do it for my medically fragile daughter (Batten Disease). People not masking properly led to her getting pneumonia, which led to her being on life support, which led to me getting price quotes on her cremation just in case.

"no one thinks about the perpetrators!" is always a lie.
Just thinking... we give so much attention (as we should!) to the victims of state violence, ie, people sent to CECOT.

But, we give little consideration to the psychic violence suffered by those tasked with carrying out the physical violence.

Yes, they "chose" those jobs. But...

Doesn't it strike you as strange that the people who shout long and loud that America is a Christian nation founded on Christian principles are the very people who don't want Christ's teachings of tolerance, pacifism, and generosity codified in law?

this is big, and it’s wild that it needed to be crystallized into law. the 2022 anti-homeless craze that afflicted blue state govs and mayors was (and is) so callous and murderous.
A small victory for people and direct services organizations who help their unhoused neighbors in California: As of January 1, it should (theoretically!) be illegal to punish people for offering outreach and support.
Cities can’t punish outreach workers for helping homeless Californians under new law
A new California law going into effect Jan. 1, 2026 prevents cities from penalizing outreach workers who provide services at homeless encampments.

A great example of how the @nytimes.com centers white Americans and Trump supporters in its anecdotal political coverage. You never see stories like this about Black Democrats whose cities are cracked in Republican gerrymandering to give them Republican elected officials.
They Wanted a Conservative State. They Might Get a Democratic Representative Instead.

The passage of Proposition 50, which redrew California’s congressional map, means that all of the state’s conservative north is likely to be represented by Democrats.

“Politicians should do what wins elections” is asinine for moral reasons but also, no one knows what will win an election! Yglesias et al keep acting like there’s some obvious set of policies or words that will guarantee victory but Harris basically did what they wanted and she lost.
4. Yglesias instead seems to implicitly argue that politicians should only do what wins elections, virtue be damned. One wonders what he thinks of those foolish 1850s abolitionists. As Condleeza Rice once said, politics is the art of making the impossible inevitable. That ain't this.

Yeah, the problem with what I guess I'll call Ezra Klein-style liberalism is that it holds that ideas work like tokens that do not have any inherent moral valence, you can trade them and exchange them and they do not actually say anything about the person holding them
if you ever, at any point, thought marjorie taylor greene was maybe secretly a good person get your instincts checked

People keep wondering why they're going after Venezuela. It's because they want to do regime change and control its oil, then use a big tract of land there to keep a tax free "network state" that looks like Dubai but operates like Rhodesia. They are saying this out loud! Believe them!
