In Zambia, we met people who are HIV positive, couldn't get drugs to suppress the virus after U.S. aid cuts and were seeing symptoms. We checked in on them — and the man who's been their champion.
In April NPR profiled people who couldn't get their HIV drugs. How are they faring now?

Thank you Senator Cory Booker. This guy truly cares about the people he represents.
"I don't want a Disney vacation of our history! I don't a whitewashed history, I don't want a homogenized history. Tell me the wretched truth about America, because that speaks to our greatness" -- 20 hours into his speech, Cory Booker is spitting absolute 🔥

It’s been less than a decade since the USA Gymnastics Team Doctor Larry Nassar was convicted for systematically sexually abusing young female athletes for over two decades, and the biggest shifts in the governance of international athletics since have been to make crimes like that easier to commit.

Would a headline ever, EVER have called this a “mishap” if it had been done under Biden or Obama? No, absolutely not.

And, for bonus, a Susan Collins-esque “learned a lesson” quote from the president, treating his national security advisor like a chastened 7-year-old.

This is also why I keep saying people don't understand what is happening. It's not stitched together in a way to create a compelling narrative in the media. And Dems are dropping the ball by not creating their own talking points and hammering them over and over again.
The more coverage a story gets, the more important readers think it is.

So it matters when the NYT inflates flimsy Dem ‘scandals’ while downplaying real, criminal ones from Trump and Republicans. It’s not just bad judgment — it shapes public perception.

The expected standard of behavior Americans have for Democratic versus Republican politicians has always been clearly unfair, but the way Republicans swallow Trump's short-comings is kind of staggering.
Imagine if Joe Biden had reposted a liberal pundit saying ‘shut up about gas prices’ in 2022. It would have led the news, all of the news, for days, weeks, on end.

CALIFORNIA WATER UPDATE: The Army Corps knew the water wouldn’t reach LA—but they followed Trump’s orders and dumped it anyway.

He wasted billions of gallons for a photo op. Hope farmers don’t ask where their precious water went when they need it this summer—the clown they voted for sabotaged them.

Donald Trump is a lunatic. But what’s worse than that is every single Republican elected who has the power to push him out of office right now is sitting on their hands. Impeach. Convict. Now.
On the phone call, Trump “told Mr. Trudeau that he did not believe that the treaty that demarcates the border between the two countries was valid and that he wants to revise the boundary. He offered no further explanation.” 🇨🇦

I agree with almost all of this, but I think despite Musk’s best efforts with money and social media gaslighting, millions stayed home out of boredom and apathy. They were not sufficiently entertained.
The Democrats lost the last election by 1.5%! That is Not a landslide and not a Mandate! Our positions are strong and popular! We don't need to tear down the house and rebuild! We need to figure out how come over 7 million people didn't vote in 2024?! Did Musk put his finger on the scale?!
