The Palestine Action ban has completely changed what legally defined terrorism in the UK looks like

People arrested for terror offences are now much more likely to be women and dramatically older - arrests linked to Palestine Action had an average age of 57 compared to 30 for other groups

Imagine running a higher education system/country so badly that you actually can't afford, or refuse to fund, research that is *literally defined as* "internationally excellent".

Stupid, stupid, stupid country.

As ever, there is just no analysis at all of why things happen in politics that cannot be quite fairly summarised as “just soap opera”: personalities, who’s up, who’s down. There is simply no theory at all from these lads of why this year has been yet another repellent, despicable shitshow.

This is from a BBC article by Kuenssberg - now I know these pieces are meant to be more opinionated, but still. It was studiously neutral on Reform but frames this fight as straightforwardly "Labour leadership wanted to do a good thing but Labour MPs were opposed to doing this good thing". Wild.
