Thames Valley Police has said that the man in his 60s arrested for misconduct in public office has been “released under investigation”

The designation that means that the probe into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor will continue and charges can be brought at a later date if the threshold is reached

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's detention in police custody will be far from what he's used to

Police wouldn't confirm where he's being held, but an inspection of Thames Valley Police cells warned of issues with cleanliness, worn mattresses and a lack of shower privacy

The arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor this morning was a reversal of Thames Valley Police's normal duties towards the royal family - to act as their protectors

Its officers guarded his Windsor home for decades, and the royals are a core part of the force's work

Following Keir Starmer's pledge to release material relating to Peter Mandelson's appointment as US ambassador, subject to exemptions decided by parliament's Intelligence and Security Committee, the Metropolitan Police has said publishing certain documents would undermine its criminal investigation

They said it followed both the new Epstein documents released by the US Department of Justice and "a referral from the UK Government"

Jordan Richardson, then a 19-year-old gym receptionist, became interested in Islam in late 2023

He converted to Islam in May or June 2024, but by October that year he was sharing terror attack videos and Isis propaganda

Soon, he was planning his own attack, and was arrested in December 2024

A fifth man has been arrested in relation to the fires that targeted a vehicle and properties linked to Keir Starmer last May

The Metropolitan Police said the 19-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in Harlow, Essex, on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson. Three men have been charged so far

A case with several similarities to this one was sentenced today, when Harry Whittaker, 33, was jailed for 3 years and 9 months for making explosives

Police said that although there was evidence of "extreme right wing ideologies," there was no evidence that he was planning a terror attack

An update on this:

Three people accused of shouting intifada chants at a protest have been charged with "using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour intending to stir up racial hatred or, having regard to all the circumstances, whereby racial hatred was likely to be stirred up"
Two people who "shouted slogans involving calls for intifada" have been arrested for racially aggravated public order offences in London

Former Conservative councillor Philip Young, accused of drugging and raping his wife over a 13-year period, has pleaded guilty to 48 of the 56 charges against him today

The other five men charged have either pleaded not guilty or not entered a plea and the trial will take place in October
25. Apologies for ending on a particularly grim note, following a pretty unrelentingly grim list, but there are many significant criminal trials coming this year - including the men accused of over fires targeting Keir Starmer

But this is a key one to keep an eye on

In our conservative estimate, 41 percent of Grok’s images — or 1.8 million — were sexualized depictions of women. Separately, CCDH analyzed how many were sexualized images across genders and ages. Their findings: an estimated 3 million images, including more than 23,000 of children.
