This is a dangerous and irresponsible response.

Cheering the illegal abduction of a foreign head of state and celebrating U.S. control over another country is wrong.

Canada cannot pick & choose when international law applies. If the rules only matter when it’s convenient, they don’t protect anyone

Visceral disdain for libs proved to be a very reliable sign that one’s politics is and aesthetic and not gonna lead anywhere but a very reactionary place.

This is a toddlers interpretation of the discussion. People are very clearly saying that the data doesn’t seem to line up with their experience. The enlightened centrist answer is “social media is lying to you”. Stancil is the cringiest of them because early on he explicitly went after
Literally a toddler’s understanding of the world. “Overall, a thing is not happening more than it has in the past.” interpreted as “oh so you think it happens to no one?! you think the people that it’s happening to are lying?!”

Just read this paper, and while it was interesting, its conclusion really seems to be of a programmer/computer guy type of response. So overly concerned with the practical that it just sidesteps the argument.

The most common trait I’ve seen in people who use LLMs is “good enough”/“appears right”

I’m retweeting and following this guy to see who comes out right in the end.

Will there be an anti-AI left? I think it’s inevitable. There’s an anti-vax left.
this is a bluesky bubble opinion. 800M+ people use chatgpt every week. I hate Facebook and Instagram and I wish they didn’t exist, but 3B and 2B people use them every month, respectively. it’s very hard to picture a mass or even a niche left backlash against them
i think tech and ai positive people are going to be in for a big shock when anti tech and anti ai sentiment becomes a major part of leftwing politics going forward especially as datacenters continue to destroy communities and raise electricity bills

bad writing can lowkey be beautiful. not because the language is beautiful but because bad writing can reveal things about the writer that "good writing" would know to conceal or distract from. sometimes when reading bad writing I feel a terrible, thrilling closeness to the author.

My NSPM-7 coverage has for weeks been met with smug assurances that there's no law for domestic terrorism. Well, the Trump admin just designated Antifa groups as Foreign Terror Orgs - for which there is a law:

Move cites NSPM-7, saying four European Antifa groups espoused "anti-Christianity," "anti-capitalism," and "anti-Americanism"

Stancil once again showing he’s just a Pinkerite at his core (he’s just beginning his arc)
YES. THAT IS AN INDICATOR OF PROSPERITY. HOW ARE YOU GUYS SO STUPID
He's repeatedly talked about how easy it is to buy cheap clothes now as if that's a sign the economy is Good Actually

I don’t know what the original post said and people are dragging this but nothing in this tweet is actually wrong. It doesn’t show that he doesn’t understand the joke. His actions show he doesn’t understand the joke.
"Torment Nexus" comes from this tweet and is often used now to describe the kind of negative experiences you can have with social networks, like getting dogpiled or harassed or being pushed into conflict

q: why did the outfielders raise their arms during this play?

a: according to the ancient scrolls in which the rules of baseball were found, if a ball lands and doesn't bounce that ball is declared god. the players were worshipping god. i doubt there will be a game 7 or any further baseball seasons
Absolutely hate the World Series wedgie here

Seems like the guy has repudiated his past. The tattoo thing could be a mistake on his part but still shows that he associated with Nazis. People can change, but nothing about this makes me think he’d be a great leader. Either dumb or prone to belief swings.

But then a left populist, Graham Platner, threatened to win in Maine, so they went right back to trying to cancel someone over old internet posts.

I obtained video of two FBI agents visiting an anti-ICE protester not charged with any crime.

While the media continue to mock Trump's war on "Antifa" as legally impossible, the FBI is quietly implementing it with investigations like these:

It's not just what Andrew Cuomo is saying—it's who's funding him.

The single largest donor to a pro-Cuomo SuperPAC is Airbnb cofounder/board member Joe Gebbia, who promotes vile and racist messages about immigrants.
