Another beautiful illustration of why corporate executives should be mandated to be mostly compensated in debt instead of equity. Corporate debt, deferred compensation, pensions and/or bonds will make a C-Suite suddenly care about long term impacts like safety and QC.
that bolt doesn’t exist. what does exist is a tech who checks that bolt at set frequencies, a qc tech who puts that bolt on a checklist, myriad personnel who actually look at the checklists, and management who’d rather eat shit on their metrics than pretend the checklists don’t indicate a problem
I feel like on things like airplanes where vibration is kind of built into the operation, stuff should be held together with bolts that can't *get loose*??
