You'd think an institution with that much money would be too proud to suck up to a child molesting tycoon, but maybe the reason Harvard has so much money is that it will do anything to suck up to a tycoon, no matter what they've done.
“The review found that Harvard in 2005 admitted Mr. Epstein as a visiting fellow in the psychology department and readmitted him the following year. And the review concluded “it is likely” that Mr. Epstein visited Harvard more than 40 times after his release from jail, between 2010 and 2018.”

How can any student feel safe with Summers after he discussed, in writing, how to groom his students in exchanges with Jeffrey Epstein? What right does he have to his prestigious teaching position? Could Harvard really not hire other faculty to deliver this course?

surely Harvard could have found someone to take over his classes…it appears he co-teaches both of his current courses, and i assume he has TAs, so it’s not like he was doing that much work to begin with

Honestly, the Epstein saga has been marvelous for my psychological state. Some dumb part of me had internalized the transphobic propaganda that accepting us was a slippery slope to accepting pedos and so forth. But it turns out it was a slippery slope to making pedophilia have actual consequences.

I'm not sure that the Putin regime putting all its cards on a Trump administration in meltdown over economic troubles and the Epstein files is necessarily going to help Russia's long term prospects
Trump administration feels the Kremlin has signaled a renewed openness to a deal

Yes, bombed out apartment buildings, with dozens killed, including children, practically screams peaceful intentions, right? 🤦‍♀️

I have now seen a series of anchors on CNN and Fox insist that "no one is alleging that Trump had any involvement" in Epstein's business. That is a simple lie. And indeed it shows that none of them actually watched the victims' press conference yesterday, where his involvement was focal.

if you spent your entire career getting journalism jobs and avoiding richly deserved professional censure by sucking up to a clubby little group of rich and well-connected intellectuals and their politician friends I bet it sucks that all those guys are neck-deep in the Epstein scandal

It's fascinating how some conservatives' big desperate Hail Mary play right now is to "come out" as pedophiles in the hopes that millions of others will as well and create some big pro-pedo cultural mass movement that normalizes it.

I do think you can understand the present state of world affairs better if you believe that the worst person alive has, since 2017, been the most powerful person alive the majority of the time.
there is not a single Republican legislator who is a worse person than Trump is and whatever remains of each of their consciences has been sublimated to his whims for a decade now

The victims deserve justice. Vivek Ramaswamy hid for months after he promised to demand transparency. He ducked from reporters and had no answer for his silence.

He’s shown what kind of leader he would be.

When someone who you believe to be very smart is doing something you believe to be very stupid, the best course of action is to sit quietly with that for at least 24 hours.

At which point either that smart person will self correct or it will turn out they were smart all along and you are the dummy.

Out of morbid curiosity I clicked on the Michael Rosenbaum interview with Allison Mack that just dropped. Right out the gate, they're talking about her childhood going to operas.

I just... that's... WHAT THE FUCK. She literally BRANDED PEOPLE.

TORTURED PEOPLE. SEXUALLY.

What are we FUCKING DOING?

The only no vote was Clay Higgins of Louisiana, representing Lafayette and other cities in the southwestern corner of the state. He mocked the violent attack on Paul Pelosi & was criticized by the Auschwitz Museum for recording a political video in front of a gas chamber.

Never again means never again.
For anyone.
I was taught this in Middle School.
I minored in a Holocaust class Freshman Year of college, a Film and The Holocaust class Sophomore Year.
You don't let it happen to anyone.
I'm struck by this clip of former Obama speechwriter Sarah Hurwitz saying Holocaust education has backfired in part because people Palestinians as victims: "They think the lesson of the Holocaust is…you fight the big powerful people hurting the weak people."

A) Yes the fuck they do, if they don't uphold your values then your values are shit
B) THE TITLE IS LITERALLY KPOP *DEMON HUNTERS* YOU DUMBFUCKS
C) Not remotely what the themes are
D) Again, if this ban "upholds your school's value" your school's values are weak and it will not survive the winter
A Christian school in England has banned students from singing songs from ‘KPop Demon Hunters,’ saying the film’s tunes does not uphold its “Christian ethos.”

Staff said the themes are linked to “spiritual forces opposed to God and goodness,” and argued the ban helps uphold the school’s values.
