I look forward to the establishment of a Wiesenthal Center-like organization dedicated to identifying and hunting former DHS agents so that they may be held accountable.

In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.

He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.

At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.

Wael died on Friday at age 30.

ICE caused his death.

They didn’t get to say goodbye.
Disabled son of ICE detainee dies after 30 days of hospitalization
It had been months since Wael Tarabishi seen his father. The family is calling on ICE to release Maher Tarabishi so he may attend his son's funeral.

Thesis: ICE is un-American and the Minneapolis protestors are real Americans.

Antithesis: Ackshually ICE is operating in a long American tradition of racist terror.

Synthesis: Minneapolis is now the epicenter of a clash between two distinct but historically grounded American political traditions.

ICE detain yet another minor child—chase him down his own street and tackle him to pavement.

"I am legal! I am legal!" he cries over and over in Spanish.

Agent pins the boy down in snow—he desperately tries to keep his exposed hands from freezing at -25°F wind chill temperature.

the incredulous "this is bullshit, are you fucking kidding" tone here is a sign that you have turned someone into a lifelong radical against you and people like you

this is a stupid tactic used by stupid people who don't have any other ideas
ICE agent asked why he's taking pictures of a legal observer's car, replies: "Cuz we have a nice little database and now you're considered a domestic terrorist. So have fun with that."

Running off to work on a story.

In the meantime:

Religious left: still a thing.
Arrests calmly ongoing.

This is going to take a while. There are a lot of clergy risking arrest.

This is the first example I’ve seen of an American government using AI to meaningfully misrepresent actual events with the intent to deceive the public. We are at Stalinesque levels of propaganda.

big point of contention in horticulture, too. Plant patents are bullshit
They hate it being talked about because it undermines the Big Lie that the rise in inequality was due to the "free market." There is nothing free market about government-granted patent and copyright monopolies. But you aren't even allowed to say that in major media outlets.
After seeing this question raised constantly, I'm starting to feel like changing policies towards patents & copyrights is viewed by traditional powers as the thermonuclear weapon of trade tools, things which exist but must not be used.
