Obee Carter. The man who ends the world, and the man who saves it. He wears the name on his uniform, though no one reads it. There’s a badge on his uniform, at the place that once held his heart.

Under new head of Paramount David Ellison, the studio has drawn up a list of actors who opposed the Gaza genocide and will not allow them to appear in its films and TV shows.

Does this sound familiar?

Also, "Ellison is reportedly aiming to take over Warner Bros. next."

I've become such a digital minimalist that I decided to code my own website! In HTML!! Very surprised since my tech skills are almost non-existent, but it's easier than expected. Right now it looks exactly as my Ghost/Carrd did, so I'm definitely calling this one a win! 😁

I never thought I’d see the day when I’d have to warn writers against submitting to Asimov’s, Analog, F&SF, Alfred Hitchcock’s, or Ellery Queen’s.

the cool thing is, huge corporations have invested billions into AI, hoping it will pay off. so, if we manage to bully AI out of most spaces, those corporations will also lose billions of dollars. it's the best two-for-one special i can think of.

FYI, the Must Read Media digests are Analog, Asimov's, F&SF, Alfred Hitchcock's, and Ellery Queen. I have heard very Not Good things about the contracts and, for that matter, the negotiation process. Approach these legacy print magazines with extra caution.
Apparently the SFWA won't name names but I will: ANALOG. The new contract under Must Read Magazines includes a moral rights waiver. And they are rather insistent about it. I'm guessing this applies to all the digests under MRM now, though I haven't seen those contracts. DON'T JUST SIGN. NEGOTIATE.
