For literal years I've preached to everyone who will listen that the GWOT has come home to roost. This is what I mean. The slow death of institutions started a long time ago, as people watched them lie about Iraq, Afghanistan, the counter terror campaign, the stock market & more.
This is the succinct explanation for why you see so many people support him who know better. They're simple thieves who either believe that the country is doomed anyways or believe that it is so strong that it can withstand any amount of corruption.
The sheer amount of graft and corruption is amazing. These people got themselves elected to tear the wiring out of the walls and pawn it to foreign kleptocrats while distracting Lurleen and Bubba with Guatemalan sheet rock workers and trans people in sports.

Your only hope is to leave office

NY is done with your bullshit and your lack of leadership

I was a republican and you’re to the right of me

The Republican party’s defense of torture was a turning point on their souls and you can’t unring that bell
The White House's memes about imprisonment, deportation, and death by alligator are designed to radicalize and desensitize.

“What you have is this desire to get people to buy into the fun of sadism,” says Jason Stanley, an author who’s leaving the US because of “concerns over fascism.”
The official voice of the US government Is cruel, gross, and weird. What is that doing to us?

The Oversight Committee subpoenaed the DOJ for the Epstein files. They now have 2 weeks to release the files to the committee.

It’s time to find out who’s been protected, who thought they were above the law, and who’s been hiding behind power.

Dems should fight on every front.

If Texas steals 5 seats, Dem states should redistrict 30 GOP members out of their districts.

We should insist DOJ release the entire Epstein File.

Not only shouldn't we bring knives to a gun fight, if they bring pistols, we should bring machine guns.

As end-of-empire scenarios go it is so much more dignified to get your capital city sacked by the Visigoths than to have a bunch of illiterate rich people in their 70s doing it through a series of incomprehensible tantrums because their brains were defeated by their phones.

Larry Summers: "This is way beyond anything Nixon ever did ... this is the stuff of democracies giving way to authoritarianism. Firing statisticians goes with threatening the heads of newspapers, launching assaults on universities, launching assaults on law firms. This is really scary stuff."

I’ve listened to the entire TX Senate redistricting hearing so far today and out of all the people who have testified I’ve counted only 3 who have been in favor. The overwhelming majority are vehemently against unconstitutional mid-decade redistricting.

As a foreigner, it's been interesting to note who won't comply (ordinary folk) and who will (elites who don't want to be discomforted and will throw others under the bus to achieve that).

And how that compares to what I was told would happen if Freedom were indeeed to stop reigning.

Texas has had seven major gun massacres in recent years. But now—even after the slaughter of school kids, teachers, and churchgoers—Republican leaders have prohibited a law that keeps guns away from unhinged people. www.motherjones.com/politics/202... (📸: Pete Luna, Uvalde Leader-News)
Texas forbids law that keeps guns away from unhinged people
Despite recent massacres in the state, GOP leaders ban a proven tool to help stop them.

Did you know that the longest serving Republican Speaker of the House went to prison in 2016 for charges related to his sexual abuse of teenage boys? I feel like if Dennis Hastert had been a Democrat, the GOP members of congress would bring this up every day.

Remember when Afghanistan fell and republicans posted memes about how they agreed with the Taliban’s positions against gay/trans, female education, and abortion?
It's so funny how these guys say "import the third world, become the third world" and then their own policy preferences end up converging with the taliban

At least a decade ago I read an article on how the majority of Americans couldn’t take a higher paying job if it required them to move because they didn’t have the savings to put down for new apartments, moving costs, and restarting services.

I doubt it’s gotten better
