I’m perfectly ok with supporting people I mostly agree a lot with, against people I overwhelmingly disagree with. We don’t have to agree on everything to work together against common foes.

You can also see this in older autism research where anytime they say they're researching "the impact of autism" they interview only the autistic person's family members & make no attempt to communicate with the autistic person.
When politicians discuss autism, pay attention to who they say they’re helping. You’ll find it’s almost always “families” or “parents of kids with autism,” rather than #autistic people ourselves. Their primary concern is the burden we supposedly impose on others. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
