The Olivia Nuzzi story and the Bari Weiss at CBS story are the same story, which is that the upper echelons of legacy media are absolutely rife with people who worship power and don't feel burdened by any sense of responsibility to their profession or the public.

The faction of the the left that lives for harassment is just slamming Matt for this, but he’s correct and this has been considered for years a major cause of the recent homelessness spike. Watching people maliciously misread his very short tweet and call him a “Nazi” is something else.
Homelessness increased primarily because of immigration (lots of people came to the US without setting up housing).

Underrated Dan Quinn moment last night: He called a timeout after the 2-minute warning, making the Eagles’ offense run more plays, presumably in response to their two-point conversion.

Jer’Zhan Newton then got hurt on the next play and he stopped calling timeouts, lol.

Not to harp on it but there really is no winning for football analytics in mainstream media circles because analytically based decisions are totally ignored when they work - attributed instead to a coach's manliness - and dubbed a failure when the right choice doesn't lead to the desired outcome.
4th down decision = successful

"Masterful Gambit! Balls of steel!"

4th down decision ≠ successful

"Why did he do that? Must have been analytics"

People like this always say "you'll wish you had that field goal at the end of the game" but they never say "sure, the team went for it on fourth down and scored but it would have been better if they had lost 23-20 instead of winning 24-23."

It's crazy that Al and Kirk don't understand why you go for 2 in overtime.

The Seahawks absolutely do not want to give the ball back to the Rams with the Rams in sudden death where a FG ends the game.

I agree. Either he didn't disclose it to his editors either and this is a colossal violation of conflict-of-interest rules, or he did, in which case someone has a monumental amount of explaining to do.
David Brooks, who wrote in the NYT last month, "The Epstein Story? Count Me Out" is... in the latest Epstein photo dump published by @oversightdemocrats.house.gov.

He should absolutely be fired by NYT for this. Major conflict of interest that he didn't disclose.

people crying over chomsky on this website are repulsive frankly. he was quite plainly a piece of shit long before anything related to epstein came out
fuck right off with this too please.

Chomsky has been quite clear that he doesn’t think his relationship with Epstein is anyone else’s business and we can and should draw adverse inferences from that.

sorry he wrote some things you liked; bold thinkers can be monsters too.
Noam Chomsky’s emails to Jeffrey Epstein display none of the fawning chatter found from, say, Larry Summers. And he does not appear to have been co-opted by whatever access Epstein provided.

This is fucking grim. Somebody invented a white guy, an "IT professional" named Edward Crabtree, who stopped the Bondi shooting and spread it all over the internet, which was picked up by AI agents and slop aggregation sites.

The real hero is a fruit stand owner named Ahmed el Ahmed.

Lot of positives for the Eagles against the Raiders so far but yet another end of first half sequence where Nick Sirianni exposes Saquon Barkley to an unnecessary extra hit while not actually trying to score and letting the clock run out.
