a sequel:

cis people on the skyline are genuinely more distressed by the trump-kennedy center than the fact that congress said a second time in 2 days, “no, really this kind of child’s healthcare should be banned & criminalized” & 46/47 non-GOP senators won’t commit to “i will oppose this.”

This is how you do an In Memoriam.
It’s weird to say I “love” something that reminds of me of all the amazing artists we lost this year, but no one does a tribute better than the @tcmtv.bsky.social crew.

It may be wishful thinking on my part, but Avengers: Doomsday is so nakedly Marvel doing their desperate version of “Make it 1997 again” à la 30 Rock, and audiences are not going to be that excited.
when the AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY trailer played there wasn’t a single clap in the entire sold out IMAX theater, just total silence. when the prologue for THE ODYSSEY played, everyone was audibly locked in, and cheered and clapped the second it ended. That’s the movies right there

I agree. Either he didn't disclose it to his editors either and this is a colossal violation of conflict-of-interest rules, or he did, in which case someone has a monumental amount of explaining to do.
David Brooks, who wrote in the NYT last month, "The Epstein Story? Count Me Out" is... in the latest Epstein photo dump published by @oversightdemocrats.house.gov.

He should absolutely be fired by NYT for this. Major conflict of interest that he didn't disclose.

I'm finally starting this project to watch the entire Touchstone Pictures filmography (every film associated with the Disney label whether through production or distribution) from 1984-2016 & share my thoughts on each release in this thread. Follow along as I revisit the hits, misses & obscurities.

All I want for Christmas is to find someone who will join @scottrenshaw.bsky.social and I -- as a guest! -- on Mousterpiece Melodies as we discuss the songs of Encanto in the new year. Are you that person? DM! Email me! (It's in my bio.) Or respond to this post!

Honestly shocked the Academy is also (perhaps by accident) detecting where the TV vs. streaming winds are blowing.
LOS ANGELES, CA – The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and YouTube signed a multi-year deal that will give YouTube the exclusive global rights to the Oscars®, beginning in 2029 with the 101st Oscars ceremony and running through 2033.

The Academy took the biggest check.

The latest “Next month on Disney+” PR email waits until the very end, as if to sneak it past you, to say that Leslie Iwerks’ new documentary Disneyland Handcrafted is “also coming” in January. Way to literally bury the lede!
