One thing I like about Bluesky vs Twitter is that on Twitter when my tweets don’t get much engagement I’m always wondering if my reach is being throttled by one of Musk’s pernicious algorithms, whereas on Bluesky if my posts don’t get much engagement I can rest assured it’s because they are shit.

One thing I like about Bluesky vs Twitter is that on Twitter when my tweets don’t get much engagement I’m always wondering if my reach is being throttled by one of Musk’s pernicious algorithms, whereas on Bluesky if my posts don’t get much engagement I can rest assured it’s because they are shit.
I think the difference is now amply clear that nobody who works at Twitter/Threads actually uses the product, while the entire team building Bluesky is a bunch of Terminally Online folks who can't stop poasting.

This is Facebook saying they don’t want to deal with governmental influence or content moderation. They’ve admitted Threads can’t launch in Europe yet cause they have better data privacy & moderation laws!
Direct from Mosseri: they DON’T want to encourage politics and hard news posting on Threads, and the “scrutiny, negativity…or integrity risks that come along with them.”

Threads sucks because it rewards Instagram influencers who were able to just import their already large following & the algorithm just promotes the hell out of their high engagement posts
but as everyone is finding out, Instagram influencers just aren’t good posters. they don’t have the sickness.
