JFK was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald, acting alone.
My first political memory - exactly 62 years ago right now, a 4-year-old boy trying to understand his mom's tears - is still the biggest event in my lifetime. We still (IMO) don't *really* know who killed JFK, but we know the public's trust was shattered. It's a straight line to today's mess

the left already had this discourse way back in the late 19th c with rising antisemitic nationalism and that maybe working class antisemitism was a proto class consciousness and engels of all people shot it down as backward wrecker shit and someone else coined 'socialism of fools' for it
Every 2-4 years, a bunch of left-wing populists have the brilliant thought “Hey, what if people’s resentment of social minorities is actually just sublimated resentment for capitalist elites?” and then we get to spend 2-4 years once again learning that no, it’s very much the reverse

This tracks with Trump's own conversion story on the issue of abortion. What if that kid didn't turn out to be a superstar? What if the kid was disabled?

I don't enjoy the fact that two such prominent flavors of "the left" are "we have to be militantly centrist and fuck over as many trans people as it takes" and "we have to be militantly leftist and fuck over as many trans people as it takes"

There is shockingly little mea culpa or retrospective analysis in the political press about the absolute unmitigated disaster of coverage of DOGE still less than a year ago.

Reading Narnia to the kids again and this part captures roughly what I think has gone on in the heads of GOP elites from 2016 on pretty well.

Ok, pretty funny of Zohran’s people to put out the absolute model of the sort of statement that drives Bluesky absolutely *insane* to be studiously ignored On Here because of the source

Kamala Harris was dragged for being endorsed by and campaigning with Liz Cheney by the same progressives swooning over Mandani kikiing with Trump in the White House.

And when y’all ask why I say they got it…shit like that is why.

The ‘kids these days’ narrative is so tired. Every generation says it, and studies show most of it is memory bias. I am a millennial and remember folks in MIDDLE school smoking, cussing, fighting and so on.

the takeaway from the Zohran Trump meeting is that Trump is a gullible fool who will temporarily bend to the last charismatic person he talked to.

Zohran played him perfectly but that doesn’t mean Trump is good now. He’ll go back to fascism tomorrow morning after he talks to Stephen Miller

Why are pro-lifers?
So my adoptive mom threw the"well you know, your mom could've aborted you" at me today because she's tired of my "attitude". I told her "I am pro abortion to the point of being fine with having never existed." That pulled her up short. I don't play this game. With anyone. 🥚
