Independent C-SPAN caller to Rep. Mark Alford: "You're taking credit for $50b that you just gave to the hospital industry. That's after you took away $150b. You don't take credit for just giving back a little bit of money after taking away so much. So quit lying. It just makes you look horrible."

This has been one of the biggest things the Trump admin has changed my mind about. I used to be indifferent to billionaires, but I no longer find that an option.

Amy Klobuchar: Double. That's how much the healthcare premiums are going up for people on the ACA. Three-fourths are in states that were won by Donald Trump.

There are actually more statues of deceased Republican leaders than there are Republican House members over there right now.

The 3 (uniquely) worst things Trump term 2 has done (so far):

(1) Destroy foreign aid (eg, USAID) - this is the most damaging in terms of human life
(2) Ruin the lives of *millions* of immigrants
(3) Destroy any semblance of independence of DOJ and really all of our bureaucratic agencies
PADILLA: Do you believe govt officials are obligated to follow court orders whether they agree with them or not, yes or no?

BONDI: I wish you loved your state of California as much as you hate President Trump

When I say MAGA is post-truth, one of the things I mean is the movement—along with its fellow travelers and apologists—approaches the world insisting that there’s no such thing as factual reality, there are only words and images that are good or bad for one’s team.
I am following this debut, and I don’t know anyone who can explain why an opinion journalist has been chosen as Editor-in-Chief. Did we need more opinion at CBS?
Not an expert on this stuff but I have the sense that no one backing Weiss understands that what she has done her whole career, opinion-based news-flavored content, is distinct from news reporting.

Why assume CBS under the Ellisons aims to make money, rather than sees financial losses as an acceptable price to advance political goals, like the Washington Post under Bezos or RT?

Lots of people should lose those farms
So the American taxpayer eats it twice, once on tariffs and again on a second farm bailout. I’m glad farmers are getting help, no one should lose their farm, but it’s remarkable how fast “socialism” stops being a dirty word when the checks clear in red counties.

The notion that Bari will be "running CBS News" is slightly misleading. What the reporting suggests is that Tom Cibrowski, a guy with normal qualifications, will be doing that. Bari will be Emperor Ellison's Vader-esque enforcer, outside the chain of command, intervening at will.
