Can't remember if I've posted this, but one of the first times I visited the town in which I now live this was tied with a ribbon to the bridge from the train station.

I still find comfort in reading it occasionally. A beautiful sentiment from a stranger who'll never know how much it meant to me.
I wish I had the energy to feel rage any more. I just feel empty now, like the light's going out.

He's forcing thousands of young Trans+people to be cisgender and through the trauma of a puberty they don't want, ripping away from them their right to be safe, and denying them the opportunity to thrive and be happy

But yeah, sure, Streeting's the victim

Labour is full of absolute monsters
Labour MPs say Wes Streeting's stock has risen within the party after extraordinary No 10 briefings against him on Tuesday night

"They've managed to create a situation where Wes is the victim/the adult in the room"

I've now had a letter from the practice saying the reason that they refused was that there was a mismatch between the name on the letter from the GIC and my name on their records.

Rather than do anything to contact me, they declined my prescription then lied to me about the reason.
I've just gotten off the phone with my GP after I asked why they put out a statement stating they wouldn't provide titration for trans people as of November. They refused it for me in June.

When I asked about this, he called me "pedantic".
🚨 Hundreds, possibly thousands, of GPs are refusing Trans+ adults their healthcare

We always said the Trans+ Healthcare scandal would get worse

I still don't know how anybody is giving Starmer credit for winning the election.

When the Tories had finished shitting the bed, it was always going to be left to whoever happened to be stood closest to change the sheets.

Instead, Starmer got in and started rolling around.
Keir Starmer has effectively started a leadership challenge against himself. To have entered into this kind of madhouse Westminster squabbling so soon after an election is simply unforgivable.

The first thing anti-trans groups like Bayswater Group and Transgender Trend say to parents of trans teens is take their phones, get them off the internet
So, given that a lot of trans people are offended that Brianna's transfemicide is being turned into a crusade against phone use, when Brianna had a supportive online community and was murdered offline by her classmates:

Do you think "Touch grass" is an appropriate response to that context?

And we know that restricting phone access during school would have done nothing to stop her killers being radicalised
They didn't need phones for that when the entire force of traditional print media, and your government, are the ones responsible for teaching them that trans people are monsters.

I'd be quite happy to see Starmer go, but when you have Streeting and Mahmood being presented as the most viable alternatives it doesn't exactly bode well for the future. Seems guaranteed that the attacks on marginalised communities we have seen already will be ramped up.

Like the Guardian, people view the BBC as left wing and, as a result, their combined anti trans campaigning has done more damage to trans people than the entire right wing media machine, because they legitimised the right wing's lies.

The BBC has no pro-trans bias. The BBC is appalling on trans issues, just like the rest of the media.

Everything on our news agenda is being driven by a corrupted disinformation machine, run by a billionaire who sponsors Tommy Robinson and who keeps trying to foment civil war in the UK.

And incredibly our MPs & news providers stay there.

THAT is the problem. Not some bad editing choice on the BBC.

It's genuinely sickening to see all these MPs doing everything they can to erase transphobia from the conversation.

Brianna Ghey died because of the bigotry that the media and the Labour Party pushes relentlessly. She didn't die because her school doesn't have phone pouches.
On Brianna's 19th birthday, this morning I joined @cheshirepcc.bsky.social and the Brianna Ghey Legacy Project Phone Free Education campaign at the launch at Jodrell Bank of a new £150k initiative to make Cheshire the first county in the UK where ALL state high schools have lockable phone pouches.

It is deeply fucking insulting for Rosie Duffield to be involved in this campaign led by the mother of Brianna Ghey.

Duffield stormed out the room of the Women and Equalities Committee because of questions supporting trans people, before calling it the "Transvestites Equality Committee"
When Rosie Duffield is in on it I think we can safely say the anti-phone campaign in Brianna's name is actively at odds with tackling transphobia

"Are there even any-" it doesn't matter. Banning the few trans athletes isn't the point. The point, from Trump's ban on trans people in government to Britain's bathroom ban to Newsom's sports ban, is to make sure everyone knows trans women are OTHER and to act accordingly to us in their daily lives.

This is what kills me. If Esther Ghey wants to talk about the dangers of kids being online too much, she can talk about radicalization, about bigotry, about the dehumanizing ideas of trans people Brianna's killers were exposed to.

She doesn't, she talks exclusively about Brianna's social media use.
putting her phone in a pouch would have made her killers less transphobic and violent?

i stopped paying attention to the bbc after they published a conspiracy theory about trans women raping lesbians.

their 1 source was a sex predator who wrote a manifesto stating trans men should be correctively raped and trans women should be lynched

they still have not retracted or apologised
It’s so difficult to say what “the news” is these days: newspapers and front pages seem largely irrelevant, the BBC is ignored or castigated by so many, and social media is so siloed that “current affairs” seems to exist in multiple separate iterations
I'm guessing the BBC 'scandal' has been big on X this week as this was the first I had heard of it...
