Today I wrote about the Trump’s latest effort to pardon his election denier henchmen. While we may be focused on the shutdown, Trump continues to subvert democracy and target free and fair elections. I started Democracy Docket in 2020 to expose just this. Subscribe now. hubs.ly/Q03M8rql0

The WSJ frames the "send checks" solution as a Republican pitch but doesn't indicate that any Democrat is interested, so I'm taking that with a grain of salt.
I think these would be separate votes. First the government would be opened, and then Republicans would pitch their "fix" to ACA subsidies, but the WSJ article didn't really indicate that any Democrat is buying that fix.

I'm old enough to remember when Sen Coons cut having witnesses for the post J6 impeachment trial because of Valentine's Day plans.
It seems like 30 years ago, but it was less than 5.

Trump ran as a populist but has governed as a plutocrat. The coalition that lifted him—including new small donors—appears to be voting with their feet, and their ballots.

As Malcolm X said, “the chickens are coming home to roost.”

Really cannot stress enough how many times we’ve witnessed ICE or CBP agents laughing at and taunting protesters or bystanders as they fired chemical munitions at them.

They are having a grand time rolling with their boys, accountable to no one, wreaking havoc through our streets.
A Border Patrol agent was caught on video telling another to throw tear gas “for fun,” according to a court filing. They also mocked protesters and residents who were getting gassed.
