Trump reassigning cosplaying Nazi Greg Bovino to another city and sending Tom Homan to run the ICE operations in Minnesota is meaningless BS! This is akin to Jefferson Davis changing generals because there are loses--not because there is a change of heart. Trump is still waging a war upon us!

derek chauvin was a minneapolis police department trainer too
The officer who shot Alex worked for DHS for 8 years. The officer who shot Renee worked for DHS for over 10 years. Both are considered “highly trained.”

The problem isn’t "training." DHS was built to violate our rights and has been empowered to act with impunity. We must MELT ICE and dismantle DHS.

I really think this is a consequence of dehumanizing others. They can't empathize with those they're going to occupy/bomb/otherwise terrorize, and so can't imagine normal human reactions to these things.
even as a teenager in the 2000s, I always found it fascinatingly stupid when supposedly-smart analysts claimed they just couldn't understand why people in Iraq and Afghanistan were resisting the U.S. occupation.

is "people don't like it when you violently invade them" really all that mysterious
MAGA military geniuses are talking about Minnesota protestors like they are the Iraqi insurgency, the Taliban, and the Viet Cong all rolled into one.

They desperately need their villain to be a black transgender marxist activist. The bad guy cannot be suburban VA nurse. It fucks up the whole storyline.

They want “the enemy” to be a blue haired leftist like the caricatures on Fox (bonus if they’re brown). What they can’t handle is the enemy being suburban normie white people.
The regime obviously thought they'd be able to take out a few dozen scary-queer-weirdo Antifa types in black masks and then successfully cow the rest of the Coastal Elite Liberal class into terrified silence: they were not expecting "totally fearless mass nonviolent resistance by entire cities."
It also sounds like at least some of them thought the cameras wouldn't matter because they were assuming that a couple of public executions would cause all of the resistance to run and hide.

I don't think @reuters.com posted it here, but I'm just kind of shocked that anyone working in media could have gone into the second Trump administration thinking, "I don't think in those first few days we understood what an organized agenda they had."

They made a 900-page playbook, Sally!

this is not hyperbole and is exactly what happened. it should be no surprise that those same democrats are incapable of meeting this moment
Damn, who could have guessed a bunch of Democrats teaming up with a fascist political party to censor the violence in Gaza by forcing a popular social media platform to sell to a coalition of fascist billionaires would also end up also censoring fascist violence here. Do you think anyone told them?
This morning, I recorded a video on TikTok about why DHS’s arguments for the power to enter homes without judicial warrants in immigration cases are bunk.

Nine hours later, TikTok still says my video is “under review,” and can’t be shared.

Well, here’s a link:

This was never about immigration or fraud. It was always about rigging elections.

The amount of money that is currently going to fund immigration enforcement in the US is larger than the military budgets of every country in the world other than the US and China. We are witnessing a military assault on American cities by a wildly unpopular governing party.

During the Soviet era, at times of govt instability, the state broadcaster would typically preempt scheduled broadcasts by airing performances of Swan Lake
And, tonight, the network's flagship news program -- 60 Minutes -- ran a clip show of old celeb interviews to "celebrate the movies" rather than put together an episode focused on what's going on in Minnesota.
The person who publishes the Free Press — where the words “Minneapolis” and “Minnesota” never appear tonight — also runs CBS News.

What's the outcome that terrifies Labour most in the Gorton by-election?

Reform winning?

Nope. It's the Greens they're most worried about.

They'd prefer Reform to win, rather than the Greens.

The NRA hasn't been a gun rights organization for decades. They have had two purposes:

1) Make a lot of money for the gun industry by convincing insecure men to collect expensive weapons.

2) Stoke right-wing paranoia for political gain.

So of course they're taking this stance.
Folks have been noting the creepiness of this NRA statement on the Minneapolis murder that DOESN'T affirm Alex Pretti's right to have a gun at a protest, instead blaming "radical progressive politicians lie Tim Walz" who have "incited violence against law enforcement officers" for his death....

Holding law-breaking ICE agents legally accountable is the bare minimum.
