Trump is probably focused on the money he wrongly thinks he'll make from Venezuelan oil. But he's not a details guy and nobody has thought through the details. Essentially, the US has taken over Venezuela by mistake. Stranger things have happened, but not many.

When someone CCs someone senior into an email in the hope of speeding up a response I always ignore it for 24 hours to prove I can. If they follow that up with another mail chasing, I wait until the following week, and in that reply I will deliberately misspell their name. Fesshole GOLD from 6th June 2020

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing? 2? Questions I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up. Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?
