My godfather's primary source of news is CBS. He had no idea about the Ellisons, Bari Weiss, Tony Dokoupil, & the making of the new state media. He was skeptical of my take at first, but he watched Tony's debut as CBS Evening News anchor & called his show the "Pete Hegseth Show with Tony Dokoupil."

Insanity: Sources close to the White House told the Washington Post Trump lost interest in backing Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado to lead the country because she accepted her Nobel Peace Prize rather than demanding it be given to Trump, which was viewed as an “ultimate sin.”

I'm sure it's true. And it's appalling.
WH sources say Venezuela's opposition leader committed the "ultimate sin": She accepted the Nobel Peace prize.

“If she had turned it down and said, ‘I can’t accept it because it’s Donald Trump’s,’ she’d be the president of Venezuela today,” one said.

This is so fucking reckless and dangerous, I just can’t.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), run by Oz and his boss, RFK Jr., will no longer require physicians to report vaccination rates.

Instead, they plan to start having doctors report if they’ve discussed “alternative” vaccine schedules.
CMS to stop requiring states to report childhood vaccination levels

“My biggest struggle through the years has been the public perception of it,” Eveland said, and navigating conversations with people close to him, including some fellow police officers, who do not think it was a big deal.

Five years after the Capitol riot, some of the police officers who fought off the rioters that day say they're still struggling with what happened.

Tony Dokoupil just last week said that CBS was going to represent the views of average Americans and not the elites. He then cancelled his vacation to come on the air and say that regime change in Venezuela is awesome, a position that maybe 20% of Americans hold.
Nightmarish. CBS News is now running straight state propaganda. They handed Hegseth all three segments and are now tweeting flattering sound bites.

A CBS News staffer told me this after Tony Dokoupil kicked off his CBS Evening News tenure tonight with a lengthy Pete Hegseth interview:

"If this is what Bari and Tony’s CBS Evening News is going to look like, then the we may as well just call ourselves Trump Administration State TV. Pathetic."

Completely agree. Always pull these threads back to the Reagan Administration and Bush I.
Once again, one of the primary reasons we have arrived at this point (completely out-of-control & unconstitutional abuse of executive power to conduct wildly illegal foreign policy) is that no one, including the most senior people involved, went to jail for the rest of their lives for Iran-Contra.

Upon closer inspection I was giving them too much credit by assuming it was pipe and drape. There’s no piping.

They just tossed curtains haphazardly over that shit.

For what it’s worth, none of us ever want to be correct when we say things like “neither the GOP nor the media nor the American public actually give a fuck about data and information security they just hate women generally and Hillary Clinton personally” that everyone ignores.

Hey isn't it weird that Chevron, who has diminishing oil supplies in California, also happens to own refineries in California more or less tailor-made for this particular type of shitty oil? And they are threatening to close the refineries and cause the price of gas to skyrocket?

Haha, weird!
The real kicker here is that if US companies do succeed in ramping up Venezuela’s oil, it’s some of the dirtiest and most carbon intensive in the world. And it’s cheap to produce (PdVSA says $5/barrel, probably closer to $25).

A reminder that the U.S. military officials who briefed senators on the Sept. 2 boat strikes confirmed none of these Venezuelan boats targeted by Trump's strikes have had fentanyl on them.

They had cocaine, and in at least one case, it was bound for Europe.
President Trump on Fox News

- says 2 US military injured
- refers to 300,000 US deaths (eg fentanyl)
- says we're (USG) deciding that now - on what comes next for VZ government
- asked about lack of congressional authorization, says they'll say "Oh Gee maybe it's not constitutional"

He legit just pardoned the president of Honduras for drug trafficking but now Maduro is going to stand trial for “narco terrorism.” This all makes a lot of sense and definitely isn’t about oil.
Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Trump signals on Fox News that he may be invading Mexico and seizing Claudia Sheinbaum next. The message here is unequivocal: the Western Hemisphere is mine. I am the hegemon.
Trump says "something is gonna have to be done" about Mexico and President Claudia Sheinbaum in response to a question about whether the Venezuelan strike was a "message" to her government.

Trump promised no “new stupid wars,” yet he’s starting one with Venezuela without congressional approval.

People can’t afford groceries and millions are losing healthcare, but this is where his focus is.

This is unconstitutional and not what the American people asked for.

Most people will focus on the insider trading element.

What's more concerning is how this could've been a tip-off of pending military action. Like Signalgate, except anyone can see it in real time.
This person went on a buying spree over the past 24 hours. Fresh wallet. Only existed since Dec 27th and has only bet on Venezuela-related markets.
