I have been through this rodeo several times already. It does not scare me. Release every. damn. thing. I would rather know than continue supporting a terrible person in ignorance.
"What if one of YOUR favorite politicians/celebrities/etc is on the list?" Did you all not notice how quickly we dropped Neil Gaiman when we found out about the things he did? Do you know how beloved that guy used to be and how loathed he is now? I think that right there should answer your question.

So there’s a lawyer going around BlueSky right now responding to everyone talking about the Anthropic book settlement by (1) urging people to opt out and (2) saying that they are representing authors who are opting out.

Tonight I told my husband I'm upset and scared about the little things in life because I can't face the big things that I'm upset and scared about, and I was struck by the self-awareness of that statement.

On tonight's episode of Hot Things Are Hot, I accidentally placed my thumb on the handle of a cast iron skillet I'd just taken out of a 425 degree oven.

Turns out cozy mystery writers DO know bad words after all.

I had a uterine biopsy last month and omg it was so painful, I wanted to scream. Afterwards they told me people usually do scream. There is no way they would put men through that pain. Next month I have a colonoscopy and I'm grateful it's something men do too, because it means I get anesthesia.

Yeah, let’s not forget it’s actually 5 magazines you might have to walk away from if you’re a cross-genre author.
Mystery and crime writers are also experiencing similar shenanigans—after extra long reply times—because MRM owns Ellery Queen and Alfred Hitchcock too.

This book is an ode to female rage and how it makes us stronger when we embrace it and allow ourselves to be authentically who we are. And I am about to start another reread because it's haunting and beautiful and scary in a delightful way.

1. you knew they would come for abortion and you already decided you were willing to give it up

2. you did NOT know, because you are too gullible for the job you currently hold

Seriously shout out to the authors writing the happy stuff. The "Take down the horrible government and everyone lives happily ever after and the whole book is just a ray of sunshine" authors. We need this right now. A reminder that even when everything is awful there is still light is beautiful.
