Folks, she brought a whole plate of spaghetti to the broadcast center to do her headshot. She then houses that spaghetti.

People who think Kurosawa is “homework cinema” need to be slapped around a bit.
so cool that when Kurosawa made Seven Samurai, he was like, "What if a movie absolutely ripped for three-and-a-half hours straight?"

Spent more money than I would have preferred at Trader Joe’s yesterday, but my chips (truffle, Irish cheese, and cacio y pepe puffs) were excellent, I have the ingredients for a nice dinner tonight on hand, and for breakfast I had eggs and maple butter tarts that were A++++. More snacking to come!

When you get the reputation of being the guy with the encouraging words on New Year's Eve, it can start to come through as a little pressure -- what if the situation on the ground is worse than usual? what if people are more scared than they usually are, and with cause? what use are good vibes then?

This year has turned me fully to mush. I'll straight up look a friendly cashier in the eyes and whisper: "Never lose what you have inside you."
My sincere year-end thought isn’t an original one, but its importance has been underscored to me repeatedly over the last 12 months: be free with telling the people you love that you love them, casually, and at every chance. Great love, small love, every type of love.

My mom says this morning, “I have something to show you guys!” This can mean a lot of potential things. In this case, it meant a 13-minute short film about protein synthesis.

It was made by college students.

In 1971.

Happy Pop-Tarts Bowl Day to all who celebrate
December 27, 2025 at 4:34 PM
Just 90 minutes away from my most anticipated sporting event of the year: The Pop-Tarts Bowl. The most gleefully savage pagan ritual to ever be broadcast on national television.

We can only hope it culminates in a Pop-Tarts sacrifice like years past.
