Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

Dear #Filmsky, this could theoretically be the first day in a week where I do not go to a movie theater. However, I do have the potential opp to see Robert Altman's SHORT CUTS this afternoon — talk me into doing it? I know Julianne Moore is in it, and that is quite possibly all that needs saying.

Resharing my #PredatorBadlands review because a) it didn't get great traffic (thanks to me prioritizing beating the shit out of ALL'S FAIR last week) yet b) it's weirdly the only review cited directly on the movie's Wikipedia page, so SOMEONE found it worthy? consequence.net/2025/11/pred...

I made a “how do you do, fellow kids?” joke to someone in their mid 20s who, it turns out, was too young to have heard of that meme.

So “how do you do, fellow kids?” is now an example of “how do you do, fellow kids?”

I'm having a hard time placing my WICKED: FOR GOOD review, so to the masses I go: I have forgotten more about the play and novel than most people will ever know to begin with, and I would be a huge asset to your outlet.

I'll happily pub on my own, of course, but being paid is also nice!

"LOOK AT HOW HIGH I AM!"
I keep thinking of this episode from THE OTHER TWO in which Brooke dates a series of billionaires who all turn out to be clones of Jeff Bezos -- bald, roided-out, self-centered idiots who only care about going to space.

Can't find it online, but this fan-made video catches the best parts:

Because 9 PM ET is a remarkably bad time for publishing a review if you're hoping to get any traffic for it, I am resharing my #PLURIBUS review now, in the hopes you might be interested in my thoughts on this extraordinary show. consequence.net/2025/11/plur...
