Zohran is a generational talent, but I really worry the democrats are gonna take away all the wrong lessons from this, because none of the rest of them can do this.

In the words of my man Thomas Paine, you know why they call it nobility — no-ability.
"This shift [to inheritocracy] has alarming economic and social consequences, because it imperils not just the meritocratic ideal, but capitalism itself. ... It creates a rentier class that faces a series of bad incentives." www.economist.com/leaders/2025...

It would be a shame if people spammed this email address with nonsense as well.
Trump's Interior Dept leaders are directing staff to submit a list of accomplishments to this new email address:

accomplishments@doi.gov

Imagine if people everywhere -- accomplishments@doi.gov -- flooded this email address -- accomplishments@doi.gov -- with random accomplishments from last week.

Gee I wonder why Trump might be so hot to fire them
Oversight agency finds Trump’s federal worker firings unlawful, asks for some employees to be reinstated
The findings could have sweeping impacts for the tens of thousands of recently dismissed workers.

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.

Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

Here’s an idea: Hochul removes Adams and replaces him with someone who will tell the Secret Service that the next time Trump comes to Manhattan the Secret Service can block the streets themselves without the help of the NYPD

It’s very funny to me when people write “would Canada and Greenland get statehood?” content from DC, which has the population of New Brunswick and no statehood.
U.S. media: Interviewing retired Democrats about whether taking over Canada would help them electorally

Canadian media: Interviewing retired counterinsurgency advisors on what a campaign of resistance against an armed invasion would look like

Republicans have for years attacked federal workers as the enemy, a left wing woke army in their delusional Fox News dreams. I’m originally from the DC region. These people are our friends and neighbors, normie moms and dads who keep this country running. And we should stand up for them.

Polio survivor Mitch McConnell voted against RFK Jr. today because he knows he’ll harm public health. He had a chance to stop all this after January 6th and convict Trump in the Senate but was too big of a coward. He gets no credit for his “courage” today.
It's very cute how Mitch McConnell is doing his little protest votes on Trump nominations now that he's one foot in the grave. He had more power than anyone to stop Trump from ever becoming president again by pushing to convict him in the Senate four years ago but he was too big of a coward.

Yes, key point here is that cosmopolitan liberalism is demanding. It requires us to continually expand outward the sphere of people who merit our concern. As I tried to argue in the piece, this is one thing that makes it attractive and worth aspiring to, and better than the Vance/MAGA worldview:

in the runup to the Ukraine war, US conservatives were jacking themselves off to footage of Russian VDV guys doing hand to hand combat. Then 90% of those guys were wiped out in the first day of the war because it turns out hand to hand combat isn't very important if they shoot your helicopter down
this attitude — paperwork is for sissies, real wars are won by Big Strong Men — is traditionally a harbinger of ruinous for defeat for everyone who holds it
Bureaucracy, famously not important in war
