The President of the United States just called for Democratic members of Congress to be executed. "HANG THEM", he posted.

If you're a person of influence in this country and you haven't picked a side, maybe now would be the time to pick a fucking side.

I don’t know how much more my heart can break over CDC.
This is not the place I spent more than 25 years of my life. I am so sad and angry on behalf of my colleagues who are left, trying to fight the good fight.
If there was any doubt at all that the CDC is fully destroyed, this page on autism and vaccines on its website confirms it. It's now just another vessel of dangerous health misinformation. I have no words. This is beyond sad.

I saw this VG last year at the Poets and Lovers exhibit in London. It was breathtaking. One of my faves. And this makes it SO MUCH STAR TREK FUN. 10/10 would put on my wall.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Please donate to your local food bank if you are able. They will be feeling immense strain in the absence of SNAP benefits (and still in the setting of SNAP cuts of the OBBBA).

Some other things that could/should be the president's priority:

-Soaring health care premiums for marketplace enrollees
-Reduction of SNAP benefits due to the OBBBA --> rising food insecurity
-Government workers' ability to make ends meet amid the Republicans' inability to keep the government open

I want more people to care that SNAP benefits are being cut off on November 1. 40% of SNAP beneficiaries are children. This is callous and vile.

Sen. Murray is exactly right: "Trump is gleefully using the shutdown as a pretext to hurt students .... No one is forcing Donald Trump to fire the people who make sure students with disabilities can get a good education — he just wants to." wapo.st/4nY78vK
With shutdown cuts, Trump moves closer to eliminating Education Department

Special education isn't a "nice thing to have." It isn't "charity" or doing something to make us feel better. It is a right. The right to a Free Appropriate Public Education is codified in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, signed by a Republican president.

❌ Office of Information Sevices (communications)

I know Trump and his minions all have sneering contempt for kids with special needs, but trust me when I say that their parents will absolutely fucking destroy anyone who messes with the special education supports to which they are entitled by law.
There are reports that the *entire* office of special education at the US Dept of Education has been cut. These hardworking folks ensure kids with disabilities get equal access to a quality education.

America’s children deserve better than this.

You would not fire these people—including the staff of the hugely, HUGELY important 'Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report'—if you cared at all about public health, if you wanted people to live.

And you would not let your thuggish henchmen fire people like this if you were a responsible president.
