Former hockey coach, frustrated golfer, political and history nerd. Just a kid from Sunny LA (Lackawanna that is) who grew up to be Erie County's Executive.
I recently joined David Martin of @goodgovpodcast.bsky.social to discuss our award winning Erie Corps program. The idea of Erie Corps is based off of Franklin Roosevelt's Civilian Conservation Corps and trains young individuals for parks and public works careers.

The Act sends a signal to residents that local law enforcement will not be an arm of the federal government.
The Act also provides protections and remedies for residents whose constitutional rights are violated.
This Act is timely and very necessary. I thank Governor Hochul for proposing it. 3/3

Governor Hochul's "The Local Cops, Local Crimes Act" is a commonsense way to ensure local law enforcement personnel and resources are reserved for use in our communities, policing them according to the law and not subjected to federal overreach such as we are seeing across the country with ICE. 2/3

Today, I was honored to join Gov. Kathy Hochul, county executives, district attorneys, sheriffs, and police chiefs to discuss the impact of ICE actions on local communities and law enforcement and how we can protect our counties and constituents. 1/3

My Minnesota colleague Angela Conley reminds everyone it's not just about what we see on the streets of Minneapolis but how people are so terrorized they won't even leave their homes for healthcare because they fear being detained, including our fellow citizens.

With the Olympics beginning, you can enjoy many Olympic sports at our Erie County Parks, but there is one sport that once was held at Chestnut Ridge but no longer: ski jumping.

The hill is small compared to the hills used today but it still must have been a sight to see people jumping on the hill.

The President of the United States is proving, once again, he is a racist bigot.

Everyone should condemn him and walk away from this piece of filth and all the hatred and bigotry he believes in and represents.

If only people had read up on the history of tariffs in the US, and listened to economists instead of a snake-oil salesman, they would have realized tariffs don't grow your economy. Some of us were telling you that, and now we have the proof.

Dangerously cold -15 to -25 wind chills are expected for Friday through Sunday morning. As always, if you must go out in these conditions, dress in layers, cover exposed skin to reduce the chance of frostbite or hypothermia, and keep pets inside. If it's too cold for you, it's too cold for them.

Today, the voters of the 61st NYS Senate District cast their ballots and decisively elected Jeremy Zellner as their next senator. I've know Jeremy for more than 20 years.
Tonight it was my distinct honor to introduce for the first time our new NYS Senator Jeremy Zellner!

Congrats my friend!
