The whole point of a salary cap, any salary cap, is to reduce the overall money that owners spend on players. Owners get more, players get less. They wouldn't be doing it if that wasn't the end goal.

Salary caps make owners richer. Period.
Kyle Tucker making $60 million a year while Paul Skenes makes $820k is the problem. That's the bad thing. A salary cap doesn't fix that, but it also doesn't hurt anyone who can be hurt.

Canadian federal Bill C-16 proposes making nonconsensual deep fake nudes a crime.

We can talk all day about how the legal system will not save us but this is a tangible way we can at least create SOME mechanism for justice.

Now's the time to contact your MP and show your support for the Bill.
Many are just waking up to the Grok-nonconsensual images story as these pictures began flooding X over the holidays, but here’s our piece from Jan 2 featuring a victim, Julie Yukari, who was brave enough to speak on the record and on camera:

When contacted by Reuters for comment by email, xAI replied with the message "Legacy Media Lies."

I’ve been thinking a lot about a new kind of polling I’d like to see. We have polling that measures public opinion, which is obviously important, but I’d love to see a little more empirical work on public knowledge: what do voters know about politics and policy?

The NBA media told fans that the probable sudden end of a coach's career and the unearthing of a gambling ring were mere growing pains for an industry just getting its feet under it. Actually, they said, some good might come of this. defector.com/the-nba-medi...

Rich teams already pay a shit ton in revenue sharing to teams like the Pirates, Marlins, etc., whose owners pocket the money instead of spending it on players because capitalism.

Then they gaslight their fans into being mad at owners willing to spend or players for being “greedy.”

Come on, guys.
A lot of people On Here who don’t know anything about the economics of baseball are being loud and wrong about the need for a salary cap.

Very strange to see a bunch of so-called progressives cape for billionaire owners crying poverty instead of supporting a labor union.
