Still hugging prospects. Hallelujah Hatrack.
People like him are a magnet gor those who are super ambitious but also unbelievably stupid and totally without scruples.

Moths to a flame.
Imagine doing this with your one precious life. Other people are out there teaching children and curing cancer and you decide to spend your time telling outrageous, laughably unbelievable lies about a dementia-addled rapist and fraud whose legacy will be nearly ending US democracy
Leavitt: "I think it's frankly ridiculous that anyone in this room would even suggest that President Trump is doing anything for his own benefit. He left a life of luxury and a life of running a very successful real estate empire for public service."

They got on it early.
Two fouls total in the first 9 minutes means both teams will be in the double bonus by the under 8 in the second half.

I’ve fallen into a bit of a pattern where I hit the elliptical for 3 ends of curling. Sometimes it’s men’s, sometimes women’s, but when it’s the women it’s averaging almost 50 minutes for 3 ends but when it’s the men it’s barely 40.

They had a couple periods in there where the system fell down to the bottom of the heap around 2012 and 2020, but that was largely because they were graduating talent and winning, but even those fallow periods produced real talent and the machine is humming now regardless of winning and graduation.
The Brewers have been aggressive with player development for like 25 years, and with great results - they invest in their system, which I gotta respect

ICE has completely broken our social contract.

They manipulate social trust and are creating lasting damage to our most basic social foundations
CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.

Heyman doing PR work for Boras clients is endlessly amusing.
@JonHeyman tweeted
Lucas Giolito, the top free agent starter left, has had a normal offseason program and trained at Cressey Sports. After Giolito raised his arm angle 7 starts into last year, from 49 to 53, he had a 2.51 ERA over the final 18 starts with a .620 OPS allowed and 24.4% whiff rate.

I think one of the reasons that so many national baseball writer types carp so hard about how the #Brewers build their team is that they so often prove to them how full of shit they are about what matters (SPENDING!) and what doesn't (building depth of young talent) in their eyes.

Just going to point out again that our arbitrary political rules permit Republicans to attack urban areas with impunity but strictly forbid the faintest whiff of condescension toward rural areas by Democrats

You can trace the idea that "Real America is rural" through presidential candidates of the 19th and early 20th century always presenting themselves as being linked to the frontier or the farm or, at the very least, a small town.

But that was never entirely true then and not remotely true now.

Your semi regular reminder that the Twins routinely spend considerably more than the Rays, Guardians, Brewers and get much, much less out of those dollars spent than any of them.
Twins' payroll is currently $75 million below the MLB average.

They haven't been more than $41 million below the MLB average at any point in the previous 25 years.

This is basically uncharted territory for lack of spending, even by the Twins' standards.
MLB's combined 2026 payrolls by division:

NL West — $1.135 billion
NL East — $1.077 billion
AL East — $1.044 billion
AL West — $856 million
NL Central — $691 million
AL Central — $627 million

Average team is $181 million.

NL out-spending AL by $376 million.
