Literally rewound this when it happened and showed it to @sandbera.bsky.social, who also thought it was very strange.
The way Mamiko thought Shohei was going to kiss her but instead kissed Decoy lmao

I would not only drive Freddy to the airport, I’d help him pack and supervise the movers.

How the hell did Jim come up with this one?

Megyn Kelly this is your lawyer, speaking. I urge you to keep saying exactly this.
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

I have been wondering the same thing since I heard about this last week…
Not the point, of course, but why is November 13 "the busiest day of Starbucks' year?"

bsky.app/profile/more...
BREAKING: Starbucks workers have launched a massive, nationwide strike.

Baristas in 40 cities have walked off the job on the busiest day of Starbucks' year.

Upwards of 12,000 @sbworkersunited.org members could ultimately go on strike as the union escalates.

If they’re smart about this it could actually significantly raise their floor, like what KC did a couple of years ago when they were trying to convince taxpayers to give them a billion dollars.

Of course it’s the Pirates, so they’ll probably buy handfuls of magic beans instead.

These people are unaware of the concept of farm systems?
As someone with about as high a mean awareness of the two teams as anyone, a thing I find interesting is that Cubs fans think they're about to take over the NL Central and that the Brewers' window is slowly closing, when in fact 2025 might well be as close as the Cubs get to the Brewers before 2030.

So huge spending disparities can still exist even in a sport with massive revenue sharing and a hard cap, eh?

I was told this is not how it is, yet this is exactly how it is?
For the "cap isn't real" people. The Cleveland Browns have spent $358 million more on players over the last six seasons than the Los Angeles Rams.

Data from Spotrac.

This is just outstanding work from @benbadler.bsky.social explaining one of the keys to the #Brewers having such a depth of talent in their farm system: drafting tons of HS kids in rounds 11-20. They’ve made it pay off big time.

I really wanna know what the deal was with Justin Guerriero, the Pittsburgh guy who left him off his ballot entirely.

I have a feeling we’d either really agree or very much not.
In an era where it can be harder than ever to discern a manager's value with so many in-game decisions being streamlined, you could see Pat Murphy's fingerprints all over the Brewers this year.

That's why he's a two-time Manager of the Year.

The only way that happens is if they get a HUGE discount on the most expensive years and multiple team options.

Think Freddy’s deal but upgraded a bit for time.

I don’t know why he would do that unless he just wasn’t confident about getting more consistent and or staying healthy.
Have been wondering lately what a Miz extension would look like and if either side would be interested.

In retrospect the #Brewers 2020 farm system that was ranked last by BA & others included these guys plus Devin Williams, Abner Uribe, Lucas Erceg, Tyrone Taylor, Jeferson Quero and David Hamilton, was quite underrated.

This is what we mean when we sat farm ranks are snapshots in time.
We (except @cyrthogg.bsky.social) don’t talk nearly enough about how sneaky good the #Brewers 2018 draft class is. They have 31.0 bWAR and many are just getting started.

1) Turang 11.8
4) Ashby 1.4
6) Rasmussen 11.1
7) Fry 0.7
11) Daniel 0.1
13) Olson 4.4
17) Andrews -0.9
36) Williamson 1.9

One thing that Trump and his non serving cronies don’t seem even vaguely aware of is how much most veterans, no matter how much pride they take in their service and may have agreed with the decision to actually engage in the war they were in, still regard “wars” as horrible things that destroy life.
Trump's Veterans Day speech: "Secretary of War -- we like the sound of that better than the other."

So as I mentioned on the @mketailgatenetwork.bsky.social this week, the Brewers currently sit at about 88 million dollars committed to OD payroll for 2026 pending the 22 million dollar decision from Woodruff which seems likely to be picked up.

So if he does, they’re at about $110M for OD 2026.
