Orlando Arcia is a 31-year-old shortstop and the younger brother of ex-Twins outfielder Oswaldo Arcia.

Twins designated infielder Ryan Fitzgerald for assignment to make room for Eric Wagaman on the 40-man roster.
Twins acquired first baseman/corner outfielder Eric Wagaman from the Marlins for Double-A left-hander Kade Bragg.

Wagaman is 28, right-handed, and hit .250/.296/.378 in 140 games last season.

Bragg was a 17th-round pick in 2023 and didn't rank among the Twins' top 30 prospects.

If the Pohlads cutting payroll and saying the Twins lose money sounds familiar, it's because they're running the same playbook as 30 years ago.

Different first name. Same last name. And many of the quotes used and claims made are eerily similar.

"Marty Supreme" is amazing.

I'm already thinking about seeing it a second time.

Probably an all-time top 10 sports movie despite very much not fitting the traditional mold.

Will the new Pohlad running the Twins be better than the last Pohlad running the Twins? And did the family push Joe Pohlad out?

What if Chris Finch is playing the long game by trying to get the league-wide narrative about Oklahoma City to the point where referees might overcompensate in the playoffs?
Ant and Julius both get hit on the arm with no call, Chris Finch loses his mind and walks on the floor to scream at the official during gameplay. He was ejected and had to be held back by half the damn staff

I thought Shawn Armstrong would have been a good, cheap-ish fit for the Twins' bullpen. Not surprised the Guardians targeted him for $5.5 million.

After four months, the Twins finally revealed their new minority owners. But the news didn't stop there.

Joe Pohlad stepped down from running the team and was replaced by older brother Tom Pohlad, who then held his first press conference.

I asked Tom Pohlad about his repeated use of the word "relentless" in regard to winning and how he can square that with dramatically decreased payrolls over the past several years and a current payroll around $100 million.

Pohlad's response:
December 17, 2025 at 9:33 PM
I asked Tom Pohlad if he's worried the Twins are taking a half-measure by keeping star players without supporting them by increasing the payroll to add impact talent to the roster.

Pohlad admitted it's a worry and called himself "a go big or go home guy."

His full response:

I asked Tom Pohlad if the Pohlad family remains committed to owning the Twins long term.

His response: "We're in it for the long haul."

Tom Pohlad notably used the word "relentless" in both a press release quote and a separate email sent to Twins season ticket holders.

Phrasing in press release: "Relentless pursuit of a championship."

Phrasing in message to season ticket holders: "Relentless focus on winning."

Twins announced three incoming minority ownership groups, led by:

- George G. Hicks: Minnesota native, co-founder of Varde Partners, self-described "lifelong Twins fan."

- Craig Leipold: Minnesota Wild majority owner.

- Glick Family Investments: New York-based private equity.
December 17, 2025 at 4:18 PM
Included in this announcement from the Twins: Tom Pohlad is replacing younger brother Joe Pohlad "in overseeing the Twins organization."

Joe Pohlad says: "I will be stepping away from my day-to-day role."
