In my Grifters and Ideologues theory, Hegseth is your classic grifter. Hegseth doesn't know his job well and doesn't care to know if well. He is obsessed with how people look, which reveals a profound lack of understanding of the military and an obsession with tv.

Working people have been left behind in New York. In the wealthiest city in the world, one in five can't afford $2.90 for the train or bus. As I told Trump today— it’s time to put those people right back at the heart of our politics.

There is a species of democrat that would rather spend the rest of their lives praying at the alter of any rebublican that says a negative thing about trump than devote one cent or second of their time to a progressive candidate in their own state who has been on the right side of history from jump.

one thing i think is true is that republicans assumed that democrats would not respond in kind and that the forceful pushback spooked them (a lesson to learn here, perhaps)
Trump's corrupt scheme to rig 2026 is suddenly falling apart:

*Court strikes down Texas GOP gerrymander
*Indiana GOP lacks votes to redraw map
*Big Dem win in Virginia could give Ds more seats

On the pod, DLCC head Heather Williams is informative on what's next:

Trump’s Plot to Rig 2026 Is Falling Apart, and Boy Is He Mad About It
As the Trump-GOP scheme to gerrymander the midterms suddenly faces big new setbacks, a Democratic operative who’s leading in these fights explains why the battle isn’t over—and what must happen now.

Great conversation with @cmolanphy.bsky.social here. Makes sense that Hit Parade episodes are pegged to feature film length, because like films, one can suddenly find oneself in the mood to revisit a favorite.
How to Geek Out About the Billboard Charts ... as a Profession
Chris Molanphy made a niche for himself to finally put decades of Billboard chart obsession to good use. The result was the engrossing podcast "Hit Parade."

Imagine believing that Bernie would not have won the 2016 and 2020 elections. Staggering levels of cope.
Zohran Mamdani has a higher favorability rating than Donald Trump, JD Vance or Chuck Schumer. The most popular political figures in America are Barack Obama and Bernie Sanders www.gelliottmorris.com/p/new-poll-d...

You might not have caught what just happened on the Senate floor, but the Senate just “deemed as passed” the Epstein resolution.

That means as soon as it arrives from the House, it automatically passes the Senate (with no amendments) and heads to the President’s desk.

Wow.

I think goading the GOP into killing the filibuster would have been a good thing to do, but that strategy concedes that Dems don’t have the guts to kill it themselves. They can never act; they can only react.

We will not back any Senate primary candidate unless they call for Schumer to step down as Minority Leader.

If you’re as pissed as we are, join this campaign to rebuild the Democratic Party. 👇
Democratic leaders have failed us again. It's time to get new leaders.
After yet another capitulation by Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats, it's clear we need new leadership capable of mounting a serious opposition to Trump's authoritarian regime. We're launching our la...
