Every day/every hour makes clearer what was evident two weeks into this Trump admin & GOP congress: that short of all out nuclear Armageddon no foreign enemy could ever destroy this republic, its institutions & its power faster or more sweepingly with nobody to defend it all than what we’re seeing.

A month ago Trump also sent innocent man Neri Alvarado to El Salvador, a man whose autism awareness tattoo somehow got him tagged a "gang member." He's also being imprisoned incommunicado, with not even a proof of life allowed.

Family and friends in Venezuela recorded this heartbreaking video.
NEW: Friends of Neri Alvarado, rotting in a Salvadoran prison on Trump's orders, made a video highlighting his volunteer work helping neurodiverse children learn to swim. Neri was sent there after someone at ICE thought his autism awareness tattoo was a gang tattoo.

It's now been over a month since Trump sent innocent man Andry Hernández to one of the world's worst prisons because of "Mom" and "Dad" tattoos. Like the others, he is being imprisoned with no contact with the outside world.

Trump's tariff war is the dumbest economic policy any president has ever adopted. His tariff stupidity singlehandedly caused vast & needless damage to stock markets, industries & diplomatic relations across the globe. Stock markets lost over $10 trillion in value

Hey Times writers, in case you ever wondered what you would do during an authoritarian, Soviet-style "crackdown on higher education," it turns out the answer is friendly interviews with the architects about their political strategy
Rufo is genuinely as extreme as a KKK member or a radical anarchist, but you don't see the brunchlords at the New York Times consistently fellating those ideological segments

because the paper's ownership likes, and has made the conscious choice to normalize and validate, authoritarianism

But instead somebody somewhere will lose out on healthcare. Stupid and cruel.

When I was with GSA, every couple of months I’d listen to people calling 844-USA-GOV1, the federal government’s help line. (“This call may be monitored” by me, it turns out.) And my estimate is that 40% of the calls were from people *being scammed*—whether or not they’d realized it yet—seeking help.
Here is a very tangible example of how fake fraud claims are restricting access.
Musk and JD Vance keep saying that 40% of SSA phone calls are effort to engage in fraud. Its not true!
But now, clients cannot do ID verification processes via phone, overloading field offices & excluding many.

He’s eliminated programs monitoring foreign influence and disinformation.

Fired those securing voting systems & degraded efforts to stop foreign intrusions.
