A sick irony that Maduro will now get free healthcare paid for by our taxes while millions of Americans go without

55,000 Pennsylvanians have declined coverage since enrollment began in November. There was no good reason for this. It’s the scandal of the year.

One of the best pieces I’ve read all year.
I grew up imagining I might someday be called upon to stand up for my faith against a government that openly hated Christianity. Instead, we’re called to stand up for our Christian faith against a government that openly sins but calls its sins Christianity.

Christianity isn’t a MAGA thing
When Walter Ciszek was a young Jesuit, he got his wish to go to Russia to minister to the spiritually starved people there suffering under an atheist communist regime. But when he was imprisoned on…

The Kennedy Center is a living memorial to a fallen president and named for President Kennedy by federal law. It can no sooner be renamed than can someone rename the Lincoln Memorial, no matter what anyone says.
Breaking news: The board of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has voted to rename the storied arts institution the “Trump-Kennedy Center,” according to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
Kennedy Center board votes to rename ‘Trump-Kennedy Center’
Kennedy Center trustees, installed earlier this year by President Trump, have voted to rename the center after him, said Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

It’s not in America’s interest to erase the path to coexistence. Telling millions of Palestinians they have no rights and no place to go is wrong, inhumane, and a recipe for several more generations of hostility to America.
By rejecting the distinction between Palestinian statehood and anti-Semitic violence, Israel's right-wing supporters are erasing the path to coexistence.

Truly Orwellian doublespeak in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania today. At the same time he’s congratulating himself re working families, it was announced there will be no vote on the ACA subsidies, so health insurance is going up 200% in price in this exact region of Pennsylvania.

What’s worse, Fetterman working harder to get a pardon for Netanyahu than healthcare for his own constituents….or the fact that he did the Netanyahu letter in secret?

Four Republicans just voted for a 3-year extension of ACA -- a huge achievement -- and a dozen or more are advocating at least a 2-year extension in the House. The momentum is with us but Fetterman as usual is giving up. Here is a challenge to him to do his job.

In Trump’s Pennsylvania speech tonight he claimed energy prices would “soon” be going down. Not soon enough for the 270k people in our state who had their electricity shut off this year, a huge increase from when Biden was president.

Trump is going to deliver remarks today at a Pennsylvania casino, a place where you are on your own and the odds are stacked against you. Exactly how all the people losing healthcare in our state will soon feel thanks to his ridiculous legislation.

This second strike episode, wherever it leads, epitomizes the Trump presidency.
Lying.
Blaming subordinates.
No respect for Congress.
Toughness only toward those you know can’t fight back.

If this is how Mark Kelly is treated, imagine how impossible it is for junior officers to question anything that’s happening. This is why they needed to hear the message in the first place.
Hegseth is now threatening to recall Sen. Mark Kelly to active duty in order to court martial him.

My latest for @meidastouch.com For those who don’t understand what the Dems meant when they reminded the troops about unlawful orders, just watch A Few Good Men. It’s about honor.

A Few Good Dems Told the Truth and Trump Couldn't Handle It
Former Rep. Conor Lamb argues that Democrats were right to remind troops to refuse unlawful orders, and Trump’s furious calls for their execution only prove their point.

A president who wasn’t ordering illegal things would have no problem with what @deluzio.house.gov and Mark Kelly and the others said. They said troops shouldn’t break the law, which they shouldn’t.

Trump supporters need to think hard today about living in a country that can prosecute you on an indictment they switched at the last minute, like they did to Comey.

It started with immigrants, federal employees, murders at sea. This is police state behavior that is spreading like cancer.

An attack on Venezuela cannot possibly be about drug overdoses. Maybe oil, distraction, or something worse, but not overdoses. Venezuela is not where those drugs come from. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...
Why Blowing Up Venezuelan Boats Won’t Stop the Flow of Drugs
President Trump says striking drug traffickers from Venezuela will prevent deadly drugs from reaching the United States. But the major smuggling routes are elsewhere.

More than 338,000 Pennsylvanians had their utilities shut off this year, a 16% increase.

The price of groceries has grown as much here as anywhere.

Our ACA exchange says prices are going up 102% next year.

The impact of Trump’s policies is no longer predicted or hypothetical. It’s real.

A 216 to 5 vote.
BREAKING: At Pope Leo XIV’s urging, U.S. Catholic bishops just delivered the strongest rebuke of a sitting president in Church history — condemning Trump-Vance raids as “inhumane” and “dehumanizing” in a 216–5 vote.
NEW: At Pope Leo’s Urging, Bishops Issue Historic Rebuke of Trump’s Raids
Nearly all U.S. Catholic bishops united in Baltimore to denounce the Trump administration’s “inhumane” deportation campaign — a near-unanimous, unprecedented moral stand against a sitting president.

Response to @fetterman.senate.gov saying Dems shouldn't wait for Trump to show up with a dozen roses (though that is such nonsense, it almost answers itself).

Dem chairwoman of rural Crawford County PA, Lindsey Scott, talking about they kept chasing their voters till polls closed on Tuesday, deploying door knockers all day and achieving a record-high vote total for mayor. Inspiring stuff, all planned and executed locally. A lot to learn from.
