On good pens: Both Parker and Monteverde make gel pen inserts that fit in Parker Jotters (the little clicky ballpoints). A Jotter with a gel pen insert is actually a near perfect portable blend of ball point permanence and ease of use, with fountain pen smoothness and ease on hands/wrists.
