Here I am, a factory worker enjoying his lunch in the North End of Boston on January 15, 1919. I’ve survived the influenza pandemic, I’m feeling good about life, and I’ve never been more confident I will not be swallowed up by a flood of liquid sugarcane extract

People will talk about generative AI art the way we talk about tamagotchis. It will look so dated and immediately recognizable as an artifact of the early 2020s. Kind of embarrassing: people actually LIKED this stuff?

I love this photo. I love the cat’s position and expression, I love the textures, I love the ethereal light leaks. From my collection, no info known.

If we let them, they will devalue human life to the point that the majority of us will be “disposable”. Fuck AI, fuck the idea that you can just decimate another culture, fuck the callousness of the elite class in late stage capitalism.

During the worst of the pandemic, I was hopeful the U.S. would finally get guaranteed paid sick leave, something every other wealthy country has. Given the ways we’re currently regressing, and the makeup of SCOTUS, it’s hard to imagine any other progressive thing like that happening in my lifetime.
Some claiming CDC was forced to weaken isolation guidelines as many people in the US don't have enough paid sick leave so no one is isolating.

This is a poor excuse. Weakening guidance only makes it harder to pass sick leave polices because politicians will say it isn't needed anymore.

The goal of misogyny is to reduce women *only* to gendered roles, actions, and meanings. Any pretensions to humanity in women, or any expressions of interiority—like, say, a love of music—must be stamped out and replaced with something pertaining to sex or childbearing.
Fellas is it barren to like music?
