I think a lot about the chance we had at the start of COVID to finally become a more compassionate, collectivist nation, and how profoundly we were failed not only by the sociopathic greed of the ruling class but by each other.

We love to see families reunited, but when I watched medical workers weeping in parliament begging for action while sharing first hand accounts of toddlers with sniper bullets in their heads and hearts, Canada did not see fit to make a statement.

This is what happens when your liberalism was only for optics. Once the pretense is gone they are no longer necessary.
I worry that the way NON-right-wing media and politicians have been going overboard “honouring” Charlie Kirk’s life after his unquestionably horrible death may be doing more to normalize Kirk’s white nationalism, many intolerances, & blatantly anti-democratic work than most things we’ve seen so far.

I know this is being framed as a 'crazy internet joke', but something about having your entire life ruined over a petty indiscretion, exposed by being constantly surveilled & morally policed by your peers leaves a very bad feeling in the pit of one's stomach.

Have just realized that the silly “Bezos wants to buy Vogue as a lavish wedding gift for his bride” story that’s been circulating is inaccurate - Bezos wants to buy Condé Nast which owns The New Yorker,Teen Vogue, Wired & Arts Technica because he is an oligarch who wants to crush all dissent.
I know I probably shouldn't be surprised at this point, but the idea that you get to decide what "kind" of people are allowed to live in the housing near you is so bigoted and evil that I cannot believe we are even entertaining the discussion, except of course we are.
I read some of the bananas letters from residents to to the city opposing shelters this morn (all online). A mistake if you want to maintain your faith in humanity let alone your city and neighbours.
