For some reason this hasn’t got much coverage, and the coverage it has got has been poor, but it’s a massive threat to a resource that is so special for so many of us.
My friend, @melbuer.bsky.social is spot on -- late stage capitalist austerity has decimated journalism as an industry, especially here in the U.S. I had to switch careers 8 years ago because gentrification in the DMV has far out-paced the average staffer salary for most media companies.
It’s not ever about the numbers—you can bring insane audience engagement, views, eyeballs to your verticals, shape the conversation in wonderful ways, win awards and on and on

People who "lean left" but "respect" MGT for calling out Israel for the wrong reasons remind me of some old college acquaintances who were into sustainable agriculture and "green" living but also liked Ron Paul.
