The exception here (sadly)...
pro-democracy leader Machado from Venezuela. Tough lesson, no doubt.
Recently I've been spending some time with pro-democracy leaders from other countries organizing against national strongmen. Their stories of organizing against authoritarians are eerily familiar. Among the many clear takeaways: stand up to bullies and go on offense because defense doesn’t win.

Latest example: the country of Norway has Any role in who gets awarded w/ a Nobel (and not just of the peace variety... there are many other categories, btw). He had been informed on this in the past, but either the dementia got in the way, or he chose to ignore such a fact to further his cause.
Trump is not very smart. In fact, all signs point to him being an idiot..

It's surreal to live in a peaceful place (Minnesota) turned overnight into a totalitarian dictatorship by a sociopathic regime bent on destroying liberalism.

They wage hostile violence against citizens and immigrants alike. They target our leaders. They lie and vilify.

America, pay attention.

A shame, as I initially found it refreshing to notice BBC News hiring a reporter with a (quite apparent-- no judgment) disability, being legally blind (Donahue).
I mean, this is utterly pathetic, just a dismal standard of reporting
sanewashing a brain-rotted lunatic by calling him ‘enigmatic’ and ‘expansive’

Dear European leaders: If you think surrendering Greenland to Trump will make him stop, remember Hitler in 1938 when the UK and France try to appease Hitler by giving him part of Czechoslovakia. The promise was "Peace for our time." One year later, Hitler invaded Poland starting WW II.

The skies can be equally stunning in my living vicinity (So. Puget Sound, WA state). Some days-- Big clouds! ⛅ 😊
I appreciate the (albeit brief) diversion from our continuing national nightmare, in most cases referred to as "Maga".
Free Dutch therapy.
No wonder the old masters were painting skies so often, the sky is pretty stunning.

This is not a rational person. And this is deeply disturbing coming from an American President. NATO is not our enemy—they are unequivocally our closest friends and allies.

At this point, how can you not call into question the mental fitness of this President?

Mamdani: I am in support of abolishing ICE… I'm tired of waking up every day and seeing a new image of someone being dragged out of a car, dragged out of their home, dragged out of their life.

Mamdani: "I am in support of abolishing ICE. What we see is an entity that has no interest in fulfilling its stated reason to exist. We're seeing a government agency that is supposed to be enforcing some kind of immigration law, but instead what it's doing is terrorizing people."

Fir realzies.
There are, in fact, paid, professional agitators present at all of the ICE protests. They are known as ICE agents.

Also: Ring is (yet another) Besos company. Co-wee-kee-dink??
👀👀👀
jack asked if i would sketch up a poster to tell people in nearby neighborhoods about the partnership between flock and ring, and this is what i came up with. it can be printed on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper.

MLK was only 39 when he was killed. Growing up, I thought that was old. But I’m 43 now and I’m stunned by the burden he shouldered at such a young age. I’m also a lot more aware of how hard it is, at any age, to carry the hopes and dreams of an oppressed people on your shoulders, as so many do.

As a veteran of the United States Navy, I used to smile when my son hinted at wanting to join the military. He graduates next year. He's going to a trade school. He's not going to be used as a pawn in threats or potential attacks on our allies. I support him...fully.

Also: what effed up parent names their son Markwayne?!? 😄
Sen. Markwayne Mullin bought up to $50K each in Raytheon stock (RTX) & Chevron (CVX) just days before the U.S. strike on Venezuela—

Mullin sits on the Senate Armed Services Committee — I’m sure it’s just a coincidence..

Remember acronym FAFO?
Yeah that came straight outta Philly. But I'm not insinuating anything specific.
I've heard rumors that Philadelphia is next for the ICE invasion after Minneapolis.
Maybe I'm wrong, but
1) More than 11% of all ICE agents are in Minneapolis, and they've utterly failed to pacify the city.
2) Philly is 5x the size of Minneapolis.
3) "Minnesota nice" is a thing. We don't have that.

I know I know... Cynical me. But holidays like today-- Martin Luther King Jr. Day; as well as other forward-looking, progressive holidays like "Independence" Day, Indigenous Peoples' Day, International Workers Day, et. al. only seem like days of mourning. But bright side: hope for future #equality

I mean it could have been invoked at least a dozen times already

The term is known as Normalization. And it needed to stop... around 365 days ago.
It's bizarre that some politicians are trying to behave as if the US president were sane, or capable of reason or moral judgement.

There is an area in the ICE detention center in Minneapolis designated specifically for American citizens. Contemplate that for a minute.
