I think a lot about the chance we had at the start of COVID to finally become a more compassionate, collectivist nation, and how profoundly we were failed not only by the sociopathic greed of the ruling class but by each other.
It doesn’t mean we won’t get there, but the lost opportunity haunts me.

8/12/25 is the 8th anniversary of the Charlottesville rally that resulted in the death of Heather Heyer, 2 others, + traumatic injuries to many more. Remembering is, in itself, a politically significant act, particularly in the present environment, so, while the statue is gone, the memory lives on.

I disagree with a lot of people I really respect at this moment. I don't see the situation in the U.S. as they do. I think that people are refusing to land the fascism plane because they don't want to start actually thinking through what that means.
