The auteur lens of the creator economy too-often makes invisible the infrastructure necessary to do most work well.

That is exponentially more true for work like journalism & scholarship that needs institutional memory, costly databases, EDITORS, fact-checking, & when really vital/risky, LAWYERS.
A lot of people cannot just start a paid newsletter or become freelancers to sustain their careers. The sports, metro, and international desks did work that requires *team* resources, like legal checks, documents, access to archives, and long-term beat experience.

Just saw a thread where multiple people made incorrect assumptions about an article they couldn't even read due to the paywall, and added snarky comments that reflected their misunderstanding. Why do people do this?

Good morning,

I'm at Osgoode Hall in Toronto for today's Court of Appeal for Ontario hearing in CHP v. City of Hamilton.

Could be a significant precedent case, if ONCA choses to set a framework for free expression on government-provided ad spaces. #HamOnt

This class of men, including Epstein, were naturally drawn to far right populism as a way to fight growing calls for accountability.

They supported and inflated the far right wherever they could, and Epstein was part of it.
