I wish journalists would stop framing political news as wins or losses for politicians or political parties. It’s an abrogation of our mission. Why do we keep doing this? Is the spending bill a win or loss for the American people? Who does it help? Who does it hurt? Is it sound policy? Fiscally?

The big surprise to me over the past few months has been that the legislative and judiciary branches seem to have no interest in maintaining power.
It’s just mindblowing and infuriating that we still don’t have any actual contempt orders against this administration. Judges, you have to enforce your orders.

It means there is no higher authority or government enforcer that will return us to a Constitutional Republic. It has to be done through politics on-the-ground, and the use of the rights we have while we have them.
