I guess I just want to say that Trump has captured every single institution. You can track variation in, say, court decisions or changing positions on tariffs but even conceding those things accepts that his whims run institutions’ priorities. Not a single one of them really stood.

I don't think I ever ask my students what they want to be when they grow up. It's still all around us though bc many of them talk about it.

I promised myself I wouldn’t become the old person who asks kids stuff like this. 😂😂 it takes A Lot of work not to do it. Like a spirit comes over you that says, “and so do you have a little friend at school?!” You must resist.

This is scary as shit. The part about Indiana University erasing his existence entirely from their system is particularly chilling.

we had a self-directed teacher work day today. which means we didn't have to sit in meetings, we could actually do work. it's the first one we've had since august. which says a lot about our profession.

Uncle Munk weekend advice: Slow down. The most important thing to get done this weekend is taking care of you. Spend a few extra minutes on you. Call your friend you've been meaning to call. Sit outside in the sun. Go to that coffee shop you keep passing by. Life ain't what you do it's what you feel

Opinion | Actually, A.I. Is Pretty Mid

There is literally no ethical use of genAI.

🔥 It's built on theft.
🔥 It consumes vast environmental resources.
🔥 It consumes vast financial resources to support it.

No company currently touting their "ethical" genAI has attempted to address all three. Once they do then MAYBE a discussion begins.

Defend the liberty of a stranger as you would defend your own, or that of a loved one, because that is what's actually on the table—whether we are a society that will sit still as our neighbors are snatched in the night, and disappeared into darkness, or a society that will fight for each other.

Let's be really really clear. The Trump admin chose a Palestinian activist as the target of its first lawless political detention precisely BECAUSE they believe that will split the opposition.

If you shrug at the abduction of Mahmoud Khalil, or worse, cheer it on, you're following Trump's script.
