I feel this way about pretty much all vaccine-preventable infectious diseases. You shouldn't be allowed to dump cyanide into municipal drinking water and you shouldn't be allowed to recreationally spread viruses around shared public spaces.

i think nominating Gavin Newsom will lose the White House again for Democrats. The party's left flank will stay home again because he's an empty corporate shell. The age of Democrats punching left to appeal to the center is over and it's now a matter of if the party as a whole realizes that or not.

Wrote a rather long and scathing email to my kiddo's school. This whole situation arose from them being hit in the head with a volleyball during gym class.

When they went to their teacher to ask to go to the nurse, the teacher TOLD THEM "NO, GET A DRINK OF WATER AND SIT DOWN."

Two ER visits in two days for the kiddo. One ER basically said kiddo was "fine" and had no concussion, despite having a lot of nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. Different ER (we are lucky enough to live that close to two hospitals) said YES, CONCUSSION, LOTS OF REST.

I'm tired, y'all.

BREAKING: The House passed the so-called SAVE America Act which threatens to upend our freedom to vote.

The bill could disenfranchise millions of eligible voters by requiring documents like passports or birth certificates to register to vote and forcing voter roll purges. The Senate must reject it.

A post by Hammam, a known Palestinian nurse here. It is a wuote by an account of a man named Nathan Kalman Lamb who is posting an excerpt from an article. The article reads: Examining the bodies returned to their people after the most recent so-called ceasefire, Palestinian doctors noted that, in some bodies "the rib cage and ribs were clipped with a sharp saw—a medical saw, a bone saw-and the sternum, along with the central part of the ribs, [were] lifted to allow for the removal of the heart and lungs without damage to the organ being taken." Organ procurement, with few exceptions like skin and cornea, requires that the body be either alive-via brain death-or just-dead—via circulatory death. It is plausible that some Palestinian prisoners' torture led to brain death. It is also possible their torturers felt no need to wait. Palestinian witnesses have reported that some prisoners were alive at the time they were taken for organ extraction. In one batch of bodies, the organs removed were those commonly transplanted: heart, liver, lungs. The transplant surgeon waits for a person to die; the soldier can't. The settler surgeon wields his mastery over the body to serve the state. Here, the surgeon acts as-is—a soldier. Nathan says hes honestly speechless. Hammam quotes him to say: The director of the hospital where I work, Al-Shifa Hospital, stated that the occupation forces returned the bodies of women whose organs were missing. Another source also reported that the occupation forces were using a school in northern Gaza to detain women & civilians and harvest their organs
