Man walks into doctor's office, says, "Doctor, I-"
Doctor interrupts him. "Are you Pagliacci?"
"What?"
"Just checking."

It's clear there is some West Wing/Sorkin pervert who remembers this from the Arnold Vinnick storyline and just figures that's close enough to real life
Of course, normal handshakes don't involve the back of your hand in any way, shape, or form, so this is an obvious lie even by Trumpian standards.

What health issue does Trump have that the White House is so desperate to cover up?
Q: Can you explain what's going on with the bandages on Trump's hand?

LEAVITT: We've given you an explanation. The president is literally constantly shaking hands.

Society is a construct. You can just ask someone to do a ska cover of Faith of the Heart and they'll say "$300 please" and you give it to them and then you have it.

Everyone, give

Insane but true fact: making US roads as safe as Canadian, Australian, or European roads would save more lives than eliminating murder from the US.

here’s the thing

those rich dudes lived WAY closer temporally to the French Revolution than our rich dudes

like, they were aware that if you piss off the peasants TOO much, money doesn’t matter to a guillotine

I don’t think they were better people than our billionaires, they just remembered fear
As much as the first gilded age sucked, at least they built libraries and parks and schools (actual schools not Praeger U) and shit.
One of these rich dudes invested in a food company with all proceeds going to kids in need. The other started Sundance Institute, boosting the lives of countless artists. Hey modern rich dudes, don't be a typical greedy AI crypto-prick, be like these two.

I don't understand people's confusion around the "Bella Ciao" song, the fascist ethos is to absorb popular culture, especially if it's supposed to make fun of them, the Hawaiian shirts, the Pepe frog

There's a kernel of truth here because, like me, anyone who had met Rep. Hortman irl was deeply affected by her passing.

If you live only in a mediated space, it feels like losing one of your own. Even if that person chose to live his life in one of the worst possible ways.
Not at all a fully formed thought: Charlie Kirk’s assassination had way more salience than (eg) the Minnesota lawmakers’ because so many people, particularly media elites, were in a parasocial relationship with him via the podcast/etc
a lot of media elites are outing themselves today
