I would be very cautious about touting this as a victory to some sort of “abundance agenda.” Any slowdown in growth in rent prices. I think this is far more likely an indicator of prices outstripping individual renters ability to pay and a likely recession indicator.
Just got a rent renewal offer in Marcy-Holmes with zero increase in rent through Aug 2026. Adjusted for inflation, my rent will have *gone down* 8-10% in real terms vs 2022 when I moved in. $795 in 2022 vs $825 in 2026.

Other renters seeing this? I can imagine a host of reasons — supply praise is legit, but the old-timer in me wonders if layoffs/lack of growth, etc are more malign reasons.

It’s really cool how the @dfl.org ‘s candidate will lie about having the DFL endorsement, but overrule their own voters when we actually do endorse a candidate but here there isn’t a peep from the party.
update: court of administrative hearings determined shelley madore violated MN election law by falsely implying DFL endorsement in ads. state DFL told her it was fine, but inter party rules don't supersede law. plus info on her attorney jordan hagert's connections
