Oh and here we go… 22% of renters spend all their income on rent. My case rests.

More Than 1 in 5 Renters Say Their Entire Paycheck Goes to Rent
22% of U.S. renters say all their regular income goes toward rent payments, according to a recent Redfin-commissioned survey. 19% of renters report they have worked a job they hated to afford rent.

Come up with all the positive macro economic numbers you want until people understand that the bottom experiences those metrics in an entirely different way then the top you’re gonna miss a lot of the forest for the trees.

It doesn’t matter that it is not the correct term, when you have to spend all of your income on rent, food and basics that looks to the average person like a bad economy. Which they would call a recession. Economists and elites not recognizing this fact is why they universally appear “out of touch.”

I don’t care what is the proper term. I’m not here for pedantry. What matters is that the bottom of the economic ladder is feeling squeezed. The spending hasn’t gone down, but what they get for that same money is less. This is called inflation. This is why Mamdani won as well.

Certainly more supply is helpful, we can agree, but I will say that bottom half of the economy, the renter class, has been in or felt like they are in recession for quite awhile. That’s why Trump won

Currently the top 10% of the country is driving the spending. www.newsnationnow.com/business/you...
Top 10% account for nearly half of all consumer spending: Report
The top 10% of earners in the U.S. now account for nearly 50% of all consumer spending, Bloomberg reported Tuesday.

They count international airports as a port of entry and therefore have jurisdiction in 100 mile radius of that as well.

He’s not even a good economist. He’s wrong a lot. I don’t understand how these people are seen as somehow so “invaluable” that they must be protected from all their misdeeds.

Are we just realizing that Mayo Pete fucking sucks?

lol, naw, she’ll have a cushy job at a high profile law firm or a no show job at a conservative think tank like the Heritage Institute and a seat on a corporate board to top it off when this is all over. I’d like to be wrong, but I’m pretty confident.

Please stop making excuses for these people. You don’t owe them shit, and they would never do the same for you. Please stop.

100 percent. They’d rather defend their friends than their country. An object lesson in class consciousness and solidarity from our bourgeois ruling class.

Sad thing is there were many of us on the left who were begging Biden and co. to do much of this 5 years ago.

I doubt the Dems will do anything of this sort, either through lack of will or just an Obama-like desire to “look forward and not backward.”
