Somewhere there's an alternate timeline where Kamala won and the trending topic on Bluesky is #fatbearweek. And I need to stop believing in multiverse theory, 'cuz the knowledge that it's possible is just rude.

165 pages into @nnedi.bsky.social's Death of the Author. Admiring the gorgeous cover, when the book jacket slipped down and SHUT. THE. FRONT. DOOR. What a delightful surprise. 👏🏼♥️ Beautifully executed design that does justice to the equally sumptuous prose. (No pic. Grab a copy and check it out.)

Remember: There is nothing natural or inevitable about extreme inequality; it’s the result of an economic system that values wealth and power over human dignity and justice.

It doesn't have to be this way.

"While a successful democracy depends on some degree of reasonableness from voters, a successful liberal democracy also depends on some degree of responsibility and even courage from elites." The people are passing this test, and the elites are not.
The Public Is Resisting Trump. The Elites Aren’t.
The president is encountering little resistance as he remakes our society. And yet polling is clear that voters aren’t with him.
