I really think we need to make earnest, "graphic design is my passion" done by enthusastic amateurs a celebrated aesthetic. I want pros to get work too, but if that's not in the budget, I'm all for a try-hard, amateur attempt over slop all day long.

WHEN SHITTY MEN ARE EXPOSED AS ABUSERS OF WOMEN MAYBE STOP GIVING THEM A "MENTAL HEALTH" PASS and examine why so many men, regardless of the pressure of their spaces, regard women as property. DO BETTER.

Tapper isn't the only one, maybe amplify someone like Nicole Wallace instead of a mediocre white man who tried to cash in on suffering to sell his shitty book?

Honestlhy the Crossroads = Grey's Anatomy et al. is a straight line (which Shonda herself has coroborated) and that is WILD. I guess we have to thank Britney for Olivia Pope?

And she was an AGING woman (which Hollywood loves to hate). The risk to her legacy maybe wasn't higher than an equally popular male star (because any man would have been "outed" gay or straight). But the fact that she recognized she was uniquely positiioned for that risk, and took it? Legend.

If these assholes were actually LARPping they might not be competent, but they would be able to tell you the history of every aspect of their positions. Instead we just have a constant affirmation that the Dunning Krueger effect is not only real, but an actual strategy that gets rewarded.

Agreed. The only difference is that LARPers are actually invested in doing their research and understanding the lore.

Because it was weirdly decent and made money (which is what mattered) it gave Shonda her career. Without Crossroads we wouldn't have Shondaland.

Exactly. The cream/seafood combo was a PROBLEM.

Ooo I feel like we should get Claire to put that call out on New Year's day.

I'm now 43 and my family brings this up EVERY year. I'm still not allowed near the soup lest I walk away and let it scald. I continue to remind them that I was EIGHT, and maybe don't put an eight year old in charge of the food staple of the party. (Also crab bisque is hell on car upholstery.)

the left over soup (there was A LOT) into tupperware and sent it home with Scott. Scott, was a little tipsy so my dad drove him home and, on the way, Scott managed to drop the tupperware, spilling burned creamy bisque all over the cab of my dad's truck. 🤦‍♀️You gus this soup was out to RUIN OUR FAMILY.

Everyone pretended it was fine. And then quietly went about ignoring the soup and eathing other things, until a family friend, Scott, arrived late. Took one bite, spit it out on the counte yelled "MARY HELEN THIS IS AWFUL! WHAT DID YOU DO??" At the end of the night partly to spite him my packed up..

Well when other kids began to arrive I got distracted. I WAS EIGHT. And left the bisque, a cream based soup, unattended. It scalded TERRIBLY. I still remember my mother's friends gathered in the kitchen assuring it wasn't that bad, wincing with each taste and adding more cooking sherry.

My mom famously makes a delicious crab bisque every year for Christmas Eve. When I was eight, my parents threw a large christmas party for 30ish people and my mom made a HUGE pot of crab bisque as the staple food for the party. As guests started to arrive she put me in charge of stirring the soup..

I'm so done hearing about waste, fraud, and abuse. DOGE exposed that there is surprisingly little of all three. We need bigger government now, not smaller. I don't care if get a little bloated as long as we're fairly taxing the rich and corporations to get back programs we lost under Reagan.
