Yesterday I saw a post about a Republican member of Congress selling stock in a healthcare company right before the stock nosedived. We could have done a segment on it! The *facts* were true: he did own the stock, he did sell it, it did lose a ton of value, it was a healthcare stock.

Read this and understand that some version of this ugly bill will pass and we will not celebrate Independence Day tomorrow. It will, instead, be the day the Iron Curtain descended on America. The next line of defense is the states. Get to know your Governors and state legislators NOW. #resist
"Alligator Alcatraz" is only the beginning. The "Big Beautiful Bill" passed by the Senate includes a $75 billion ICE windfall that will allow the Trump regime to hire thousands of masked goons and build a gulag archipelago of camps

NGL- it looks like the 💩 bill is going to pass the house, so I'm spending my coffee time this morning reporting "Alligator Alcatraz" items to Etsy. Just do a search, scroll down to "report this item" on each one you see, and let them know you won't use their platform while they allow Nazi ideation.

Traveling to-from work is essentially unpaid labor, and the lower your salary or greater your need the more of it you typically do. There’s no great argument for it bc productivity is not shown to be higher in person. It’s mostly about control, not the public or private business activities you do.
Regarding #telework: TX Gov Abbott signed a bill letting agencies allow remote work—after banning it in March.

Work-life balance and flexibility matter. Productivity stayed strong, and turnover dropped when workers had remote options. 🧠💼

We rarely say “be more like Texas”, but this is a good call.
Abbott signs bill allowing telework for all state agencies months after his executive order banning it
The bill garnered bipartisan support after a state study found remote work didn't decrease productivity. The law goes into effect Sept. 1.

FUN FACT! Did you know that if we effectively taxed the rich, we could actually *lower* taxes for the working class? If you made less than the annual cost of living, you could actually pay NOTHING while still having a funded government. :-)

ICE is now changing tactics and arresting people who have been granted asylum hearings.

This is both a violation of US & international law that demands immediate attention from all New York elected officials & underscores the urgent need for legal service providers to be at all of these cases.

My cousin, who served 3 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, has scarred lungs from the burn pits and other injuries from combat, and he will likely spend the final years of his shortened life in a wheelchair needing f/t care. From my generation, do not do this to another generation, America.
If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people:

1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money
3) We won’t need a lot of troops
4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq
5) We’ll find WMDs
6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators
7) It will be easy
8) It won’t take long

All lies.

Based on crowd-sourced records of No Kings Day event turnout, and extrapolating for the cities where we don't have data yet, it looks like roughly 4-6 million people protested Trump across the U.S. yesterday. That's nearly 2% of the U.S. pop!

Mobilized anti-Trump resistance is exceeding 2017 levels
"No Kings Day" protests turn out millions
Our unofficial estimate is that around 4 million people attended a protest event yesterday. Anti-Trump resistance is outpacing 2017.
