One last Prevailing Wage Council as Comptroller!

Loved introducing Comptroller-elect @marklevinenyc.bsky.social to this group of labor leaders, contractors, and agency reps working to ensure that all NYC workers get the pay they deserve.

As I testified before Congress earlier this year, I thought $56 billion was extremely excessive compensation for a CEO.

But thanks to Elon Musk’s crony Tesla board, a $1 TRILLION pay package for him was just approved. Now shareholders are on the hook for this outrageous sum.

With @nycsanitation.bsky.social updating its Solid Waste Management Plan for the first time in 20 years, New Yorkers have a historic opportunity to create a more sustainable and equitable citywide waste system.

@alignny.bsky.social's report offers a true roadmap to achieve these community goals 👇
NYC has an opportunity to transform our waste system.
The People's Solid Waste Management plan would:
☑️Achieve waste equity
☑️Improve recycling programs and waste reduction
☑️Decrease truck pollution and traffic

Solidarity with @sbworkersunited.org!

Starbucks releases their holiday menu today—but as a long-term shareholder, my office implores the company to offer something better than a Peppermint Mocha.

Time to restart negotiations and promptly reach a fair contract with its workers.
BREAKING: After months of stonewalling by Starbucks, unionized baristas just voted 92% to authorize a ULP strike unless Starbucks finalizes fair contracts & stops union busting.

If forced, our baristas will strike in dozens of cities on November 13 – the company's busiest sales day of the year.
Starbucks unionized workers say they'll strike on Nov. 13 if coffee giant doesn't finalize contract
Union members say they are ready to strike on the chain's Red Cup Day if Starbucks doesn't finalize a contract with their union by then.

The Annual Summary Contracts Report for FY25 is here!

This report provides the public with an overview of what New York City purchased in the prior fiscal year, who we purchased it from, and how these purchases (we call them “procurements”) were made.

One last Halloween as Comptroller! Loved celebrating this spooky and special day (and handing out lots of candy) at the Park Slope Halloween Parade.

A judge just ordered the Trump admin to continue paying for food stamps during the shutdown. But that’s not a permanent solution for preventing nearly 3 million New Yorkers from going hungry.

Time for Nicole Malliotakis & the Republican-controlled Congress to reopen the government and fund SNAP.

We are devastated by the tragic loss of two New Yorkers in yesterday's flash flooding.

To keep New Yorkers safe as storms become more frequent and severe, we must strengthen key infrastructure—from our emergency response systems to our built infrastructure systems. ⬇️

🚨NEW AUDIT🚨

Body worn cameras should provide transparency and accountability, but failing to provide the footage undermines the program’s purpose.

Case in point: NYPD took more than 200 business days to grant or deny 1,137 FOIL requests.

The @nydailynews.com has been a cornerstone of NYC journalism for over 100 years, yet it only took five of hedge fund ownership to put it at risk.

The '23-24 school year had over 83k reported bus delays in NYC, yet Mayor Adams wants to rubberstamp the same failed contracts.

I urge the PEP to vote down these contracts & insist the City find another lane.

My @nydailynews.com op-ed on our broken bus system: www.nydailynews.com/2025/10/28/w...
Why our students deserve 21st century school buses
Bumpy, uncomfortable, sometimes sweltering, and too often hours late. That’s how it feels for 150,000 New York City students to ride the school bus. Sometimes, it never comes at all.

NYC is the greatest immigrant city in the world.

This #NationalImmigrantsDay, let's celebrate the generations of diversity and that copper-plated statue in the harbor that make us New Yorkers.

And let's recommit to standing up for our immigrant neighbors against Trump and ICE.

Trump wants to trap New Yorkers in traffic by blocking federal funding for the 34th Street Busway.

@governor.ny.gov has been a transit champion, and right now city and state leaders need to continue standing up for mass transit and infrastructure against Washington bullies.
Buses along 34th Street average just 5.5 mph for 28,000 daily riders. The M34 is the third-slowest bus in New York City; a single crosstown trip takes around 22 minutes. That’s what the 34th Street Busway will solve.

But Donald Trump wants your bus to be stuck in traffic.

The Mets, Yankees, and Liberty numbers fell short this season. Wait till next year! (as old-timers still say in Brooklyn).

But as our Monthly Economic Report reveals, our economy's numbers this fall are more mixed.
